CKCB COLOUR CHALLENGE #4 - RAINBOW

Now I've been working my way through the challenges on the counterfeit kit blog linked with national scrapbook day, it's been great fun.  Lesley's challenge was rainbow - yes that's right folks using every colour of the rainbow on my layout, now although I had a couple of papers in my kit this month that would most definitely have met most of the colours and therefore could have been used with a couple of additions, I fancied having a go at a technique in the Scrap365 magazine this month and I must admit I'm really rather pleased with the effect.

It started out as sheet of white cardstock, 7 acrylic paints were dragged out, as was mini brayer and away I went, I put the colours together that seemed to be more pleasing on the eye (I was tempted to go with the song, but thought there might be some significant colour clash).  Then I waited for it to dry, used some white gesso, a few stamps on the background in black, a few ink splats and it was done.

I've used a photo of the fantastic window at the new Coventry cathedral that we were lucky enough to visit last year.  My journalling is hidden behind the photo, which I matted up on purple and white to make it stand out.

SATURDAY MORNING - FAMILY AND FRIENDS SCRAP 365 CHALLENGE.

Good morning everyone, well it's rather grey and miserable here at the moment, but they have forecast that the blue skies should turn up eventually this afternoon (fingers and toes crossed on that one).

Right last version of the scrap 365 challenge this morning (I loved this challenge can you tell).  This time said 13 year old and said niece found a game when we were on holiday and came peering around the corner wearing it - they had us in hysterics!

I enjoyed this layout because it used up lots of items I'd got just lying around, the half circle with the journalling has been on my desk an age.  By adding a few strips of paper here and there and adding a bit of handstitching it was done.

SCRAP365 - MARCH SKETCH CHALLENGE TAKE 2

Morning all, well I did do more than one take of the Sketch Challenge over on Scrap365

This is my second layout, this one when I was sat on the sea wall at Barmouth chatting with my sister, photo capture by hubby!

I used a combination of papers but they were predominantly the Papermania papers released last year with a nautical theme.

I did manage to add a bit of washi tape, as well as some tiny punched tags and a navy heart that I've had lurking on my desk for ages!

A little bit of bling on what I've now realised is a bit of a blurry photo!

SCRAP365 CHALLENGE

This is the original sketch

And this is my first take on the sketch (yes I liked it so much I did more than one layout but I won't share them all at once).

First up "I Lost My Hat" - Literally it fell in the water when we went to an underground mine which you had to get to by boat, I nudged the back of my hat on a bar and it flipped over and fell in the water.

Thankfully it wasn't very deep and my niece was able to scoop it out - I was reluctant to put it back on though!

Up close I finally managed to use some of those office supplies on my page!

WEAR CRAFTS SPONSORED SKETCH CHALLENGE...

The lovely Jen sent me some fab chalk studio papers recently, really beautiful papers, with a chalk board design on one side and some beautiful co-ordinating patterns on the reverse.  After stroking them (as you do) for a while, she mentioned that she was sponsoring a fabulous sketch challenge over on the Scrap365 blog - click here to see the challenge.  Once I'd seen the challenge and the papers I thought I'd combine the two to come up with my own take on the sketch.

Documenting a fabulous day at Portmeirion last year, I used these beautiful papers to create the layout, I also used the strips off the bottom of the pages to create some of the elements behind (you know the bit I mean the bit you normally throw away but it usually has a sample of the papers as well as the name etc).

Now this page isn't quite how I expected it to turn out, predominantly because my original intention was to use the back of the main backing paper instead of this side, but as I was so tired I went into cutting and sticking mode - honestly!  Thankfully it worked - the large 'Every Day' element is part of the original paper - thanks to Lesley my design team buddy (click here to check out Lesley's fabulous blog which also has a take on the sketch)  for this fabulous idea!

I had also chosen to 'gut' the paper in order to make the most of it, so then I turned out a second layout using these fabulous papers!  Documenting said 13 year old and said niece as they revert back to their childhood!
