ROCKING YOUR WORLD FRIDAY - 8TH OF 2026

I know I'm late apologies, let us pretend it is Friday.

So I didn't report back on my week away last week.  We had been to Center Parcs for a Monday to Friday break, me, hubby, my sister, our son and daughter-in-law and our Grandson on his first ever holiday!

The villa we had was lovely and in part of the park we haven't done before.  We went to the quiz on Monday night and we won (never before has that been a thing), our Grandson looked just as pensive as us during the quiz.

And his Dad had to help his Mum get her drink when she had her hands full which made me giggle.

They had winter lights at the village, we went in the day and these three were trying to beat each other on the lights trail.  I was tormenting my sister on the littlest bike as she is an avid spin class fan - you can tell you is impressed with my sarcasm!

We spotted a few snow drops around the park

And enjoyed a walk to the bird hide, we had to giggle that we hadn't seen the giant woven spider in the tree on the way down.

The fungi on some of the trees was amazing

And as you can see the fresh air helped keep this one chilled and relaxed

We went to the evening illuminated lights despite the rain

I love this tree, I would genuinely have it at home

We grabbed family photos

And spooky shots over the misty lake

I wore my newly knitted scarf which I finished whilst I was there.

We spotted this truck in the park and it raised a smile or two for those Toy Story fans

The rain meant there was plenty of water gushing on the waterfalls

We came home on the Friday and on the Saturday it was hubby's birthday, as I didn't have the respective numbers we made him 21 again, which he really didn't mind.  Everyone came over for a pancake party, hubby making 60 pancakes in readiness on the Friday we came back and then we laid on fruit and chocolate spread and Biscoff spread etc for everyone.

Hubby got me some beautiful roses for Valentine's day and they are still going strong

I ordered some new wool to start another scarf

and we had pancakes on Tuesday being pancake day

We went out on Thursday this week for a meet up with family at Ikea and to enjoy a breakfast and our grandson turned up with his Mum, I love the little tuft of hair.

I will leave you with the cheekiest shot that we took.

I hope you've had a great week.

Hugs

ROCKING YOUR WORLD FRIDAY - 38TH OF 2024

Morning all, best foot forward this week and trying to get my post done on time.

First up last Friday as some of you may know was my birthday, so we had a weekend at Center Parcs booked.  It was always going to be bittersweet because it is the first we've been there without my Mum. Center Parcs was her happy place and somewhere she genuinely asked to visit before she passed away, so we all knew it was going to be difficult.

We travelled down early Friday morning with said (now) 24 year old.  We had a lovely catch up and chat, he made me smile so much because he was giggling away in the back of the car, I'd forgotten how much laughter there is when we are all together.

We weren't in Center Parcs long before my sister arrived and we put the world to rights, had a Starbucks and had a wander to find our lodge.  We got in around 4pm, had a snack and were waiting on the rest to join us.  We had the quiz booked for 7pm and it officially started at 7.30pm and they arrived at 7.28pm (I kid you not).  We had a fun night and the oldies (me, hubby and sister) came 6th and the youngsters came 22nd.

Saturday was said 23 year olds - 24th birthday.  We had a game of badminton booked.

Then headed back for breakfast and present opening and painting in the sunshine and soaking up the forest.

We also had a game of bowling in the afternoon and wander around the shops as well as a good walk.

We had a swim in the early evening and then hubby set to on a barbecue for everyone.

We showered late and came back to raucous laughter and the youngsters game playing, which we joined in, it was genuinely an education but we laughed a huge amount and it was definitely good for the soul.

Sunday and the youngsters were all leaving early as they all had work on Monday morning.  We had breakfast, the weather was a little inclement but we all managed a walk which was lovely.  We sat chatting and then later on we helped everyone get packed and ready and waved them off.

The villa was very very quiet when they had left, but we had a lovely evening and the weather had dried up so we had a wander to the village square and my hubby treated me and my sister to a dessert for after our tea.

We arrived home on Monday, got the washing on and chilled for the rest of the day.

The rest of the week has tripped along at a merry old pace, with work and everything and I find myself back on Friday already.

ROCKING YOUR WORLD FRIDAY (SATURDAY - SORRY) - 27TH OF 2023

Good Afternoon I'm over a day late, so sorry but time for

So apologies for my tardiness but I've had a mighty busy week, we had a weekend away last weekend and then straight into a few days at Scarborough (should have been a week but the weekend last week interrupted that) I'll cover last weekend in this post and this week in next weeks as I doubt very much that we'll do much this week given we are back at work and we are very tired.

There is no sense to the order of these photos - but I'm going to go with it.

Last weekend my niece organised a joint stag and hen party at Center Parcs before the big day.

This is the stag party, said 22 year old, his best man to the left and his Dad to the right, this was before they headed out for a game of pool and some beers at the pub on Saturday night as part of the 'stag' day.

This is what they did earlier in the day - paintballing which they all enjoyed but had the bruises to show for it in the days after.

On the other hand us girls enjoyed a lovely spa evening on Saturday

They boys enjoyed squash

Here they are at the paintballing arena again, I'm going to have some fun scrapbooking these.

We did a family quiz on Saturday night, the hens came 12th, the stags (which included my sister to balance the numbers came 3rd winning a £15 voucher).

Badminton with little enthusiasm although you can't tell it from this picture

My niece had done 'hen do' party bags, I loved the scrunchies

Here we are before enjoying the goodie bags

She'd also organised a craft activity, so we sat sewing for a few hours

Hubby and said 22 year old looking very serious lol

It really was a wonderful weekend to spend time together before the big event, I have so many positive memories that will be heading to a scrapbook layout at some point.

I hope you've had a wonderful week too.
