ROCKING YOUR WORLD FRIDAY - 33RD OF 2026

Good Evening all time to clock the silver linings and positive moments from the last 7 days.

Well what a week it has been, last Thursday I spent the day with my niece and my daughter-in-law and Grandson as we spent the day making floral displays from artificial flowers for my niece's wedding which was imminent.  We were worried that we wouldn't get done everything that we wanted but to be honest the day went like a dream, my niece's vision was in line with what I had thought she wanted and we carefully worked our way through and managed to make the floral displays easily.  I didn't take any photos on the day (we were busy) but my hubby captured them in situ on the day of her wedding.

So she wanted a display next to the mirror they had which had words on it.

She wanted a display on the top table

And four plinths at the end of the aisle this was taken the night before so it is quite dark

this was on the morning of the wedding but you can see the bar as they were setting up at the time, obviously the doors were closed for the ceremony

Then we had a quiet Saturday pending our journey over for a two day stay over where they were getting married.

We spent Sunday afternoon (the day before the wedding) setting up the flowers, ribbons and displays in readiness for the wedding.

All the tables were set, table runners, flowers, candles, placemats, name cards ribbon bunting at the far end.

In the evening I asked her what she wanted to do with regards to the bouquets for herself and her bridesmaids as she'd taken fresh flowers and she was quite happy for me to make the bouquets up for the bridesmaids.

So I started one and she was happy and so two more were added to the mix.

I decided to leave the bridal bouquet until the morning of the wedding as I genuinely wasn't sure how the flowers would fair in the heat and didn't want rework.  So whilst everyone else was having their hair and make up done.

I set too making the bridal bouquet, putting ribbons on all the bouquets and creating eight buttonholes for the groomsmen.  By then end the bouquets and button holes looked great, everyone had fabulous hair and make up and I looked like Cinderella sat on the floor not a morsel of make up and my hair scooped up in a clip.

Thankfully an hour spent curling my hair and putting on some make up and we were all good and then the momentous occasion was upon us.  These are two of the photos that the bride and groom have shared on social media by a photographer called Jodie, who genuinely was an absolute star.  On Friday my niece got an email indicating that her original photographer was cancelling and so there was a mad rush on social media to try and find a photographer in budget that could help, the photographer on the day who travelled all the way from south Wales to Goole genuinely pulled off the most amazing day photos wise.  Her business is Click Photography and she genuinely travels all around the country for days like this, so if you need an excellent photographer then this business is highly recommended.

In the ceremony room a chair had been saved for where my Mum would have sat, to say it brought a tear is an understatement, with one of her cardigans hung on the back of the chair.

And the crochet bags that my niece asked me to create for the bridesmaids, not sure if I've shared them before but they were used.  Hindsight - I would have lined them, but hey they were made which was the main thing.

And then it was done only the packing away to do on Tuesday and then back to normality and wedded life for them.  Wednesday become the start of my working week (rather than the end) and so that is the reason for my tardiness today.

My heart is full and I feel eternally grateful that I was able to help in whatever way helped the day go so well.

ROCKING YOUR WORLD FRIDAY - 9TH OF 2025

Morning lovely people tis Friday time to clock the positive moments and silver linings from the last seven days as it is time for

So last Friday I met up with my lovely friend Melanie, many years ago we worked together and we love to have a proper catch up and a natter.  We met as Costa Coffee and shared a couple of drinks and several hours catching up with each others life and it is always so very lovely to see her, however, we are usually too busy chatting to manage a photo so you'll have to imagine us two putting the world to rights.

Friday me and hubby had a walk to the local pub that sells lovely pub grub and had a mid-afternoon meal, it was lovely to walk in daylight, I just wish the rain would have eased off but you can't have it all and I did manage my 7000 steps.

Saturday was dry and bright first thing, so we headed to Wentworth Woodhouse which is very close to where we live, we knew the snowdrops should be out, so we whiled away a few hours enjoying both the house and the garden.

This is heading into the garden, the ceramic artwork has been moved since our last visit and looks quite apt here (look at those blue skies)

The snow drops were stunning, I love the double ones so very pretty.

A few shots of the house at the back

This is the original house that was being built, when they decided it wasn't in fashion and started building a palladian style house on the other side, I will show a shot of that side of the house that I took from the car on the way out.

The detail inside the snowdrops is amazing

I always love this roof line from the garden that is now a rose garden, I have a feeling it was originally called the Mulberry garden but I might have it wrong, although there is a mulberry tree, just not in this part of the garden.

there were other flowers in the garden, this camellia was just coming into flower

I loved the swathes of snowdrops along the paths next to the huge trees

and the witch hazel was very pretty

This photo of Hercules looks like it has been photoshopped into the picture, I can promise you it hasn't.

I love this huge tree in the grounds

Artwork in the deciduous garden was fabulous and done by a local charity

then we headed inside for a slice of cake and a cuppa before wandering the house. I enjoyed the art installation in one of the rooms

and the new lights in this room show where the original electric lights were positioned in the ceiling

and this is the aforementioned view of the other side of the house with the Palladian styled house.

We got home, I did a bit of scrapbooking and hubby watched some 6 Nations and our lovely son, daughter-in-law and grandson popped over which was bliss.

Sunday we popped to YSP because it was dry, We enjoyed a sausage sandwich before having a good walk around the park.

Then headed for the chapel as the Oak tree installation is due to go in mid-March and I still haven't had my fill of it, it feels like the Magic Faraway tree when I was a child and the lands move on and they might not return.

Then we headed to the Weston for the art installation there which is due to change as well.  We noted there was a new piece outside by the same artist,

and then had a wander inside to enjoy the artwork again, a lot of it is stone carved and I love the detail.

And all too soon it was Monday and back into work mode.  I had a few meetings in work on Monday which was confusing as I normally work from home, so I thought it was Tuesday all day, come Wednesday when I'm working from home it felt like Monday and yes I was confused.

Thursday signalled the start of a week's leave and we have nothing planned, so we are doing a 'could do' list, not a 'to do' list just a list of things that we do or we might not.

I'm planning this in advance as I know I was late last week, so I will fill you in on my week off next week.

Have a great week.

Hugs

ROCKING YOUR WORLD FRIDAY - 8TH OF 2026

I know I'm late apologies, let us pretend it is Friday.

So I didn't report back on my week away last week.  We had been to Center Parcs for a Monday to Friday break, me, hubby, my sister, our son and daughter-in-law and our Grandson on his first ever holiday!

The villa we had was lovely and in part of the park we haven't done before.  We went to the quiz on Monday night and we won (never before has that been a thing), our Grandson looked just as pensive as us during the quiz.

And his Dad had to help his Mum get her drink when she had her hands full which made me giggle.

They had winter lights at the village, we went in the day and these three were trying to beat each other on the lights trail.  I was tormenting my sister on the littlest bike as she is an avid spin class fan - you can tell you is impressed with my sarcasm!

We spotted a few snow drops around the park

And enjoyed a walk to the bird hide, we had to giggle that we hadn't seen the giant woven spider in the tree on the way down.

The fungi on some of the trees was amazing

And as you can see the fresh air helped keep this one chilled and relaxed

We went to the evening illuminated lights despite the rain

I love this tree, I would genuinely have it at home

We grabbed family photos

And spooky shots over the misty lake

I wore my newly knitted scarf which I finished whilst I was there.

We spotted this truck in the park and it raised a smile or two for those Toy Story fans

The rain meant there was plenty of water gushing on the waterfalls

We came home on the Friday and on the Saturday it was hubby's birthday, as I didn't have the respective numbers we made him 21 again, which he really didn't mind.  Everyone came over for a pancake party, hubby making 60 pancakes in readiness on the Friday we came back and then we laid on fruit and chocolate spread and Biscoff spread etc for everyone.

Hubby got me some beautiful roses for Valentine's day and they are still going strong

I ordered some new wool to start another scarf

and we had pancakes on Tuesday being pancake day

We went out on Thursday this week for a meet up with family at Ikea and to enjoy a breakfast and our grandson turned up with his Mum, I love the little tuft of hair.

I will leave you with the cheekiest shot that we took.

I hope you've had a great week.

Hugs
