ROCKING YOUR WORLD FRIDAY - 44TH OF 2021

 Good morning lovely people tis Friday time for

Well it has been a bit of quieter week this week, but on Sunday last week I did an autumnal Wreath making class with my Mum we had a lovely afternoon, with a lady I met when said 21 year old started school as her son is the same age, it was lovely to catch up and reminisce.  

We had a box full of goodies to work with as it is predominantly a living wreath, we had a midway stop where I enjoyed a cup of tea and a beautifully decorated cake and my Mum enjoyed a class of red wine and some cake, before we completed our wreath.

Next up on Monday hubby got me another microwaveable pot for work, as the weather is turning decidedly cooler the cold breakfast doesn't hold quite the same appeal as it did in summer, so he picked this up so I can have porridge at work. 

Talking of hubby a mahoosive thank you to him for coming in and helping, it is quieter in the office when the kids are on half term, so I made the most of things and got a significant amount of scanning done, but with scanning comes shredding and I was drowning in paperwork, so for two days solid he worked our little office shredder (almost to death), so we could have a clean and tidy office once more and his pay being a volunteer, was a rather large bacon and sausage sandwich on the second day.  

He also then volunteered for a trip up to the Sheffield basin yesterday, my updates of where he was were of this style, as you can imagine it didn't really give an awful lot away, which did make me laugh. 

and then after an exhausting week, we headed out for a date night together to IKEA of all places, but it was nice not to cook or have any washing up. 

Other positives this week, my Mum went in for a drain fitting again and this time they took off 3 litres, I'm hoping that the targeted treatment really starts to make a difference for her. 

I went for an ultrasound scan and discovered good old Fenton the fibroid is still causing me major grief, which I knew but had confirmed, so I've now got a telephone conversation with my own Doctors to discuss this next week. 

We enjoyed a few fun films last Sunday, just me, hubby and said 21 year old, Jungle Cruise which we'd seen at the cinema was definitely an enjoyable watch again and then we watched Free Guy, the concept of which is rather excellent.

ROCKING YOUR WORLD FRIDAY - 43RD OF 2021

Good Morning lovely people I hope I find you well, time for 

Well as you can imagine, this week has been mainly catching up on things given that we were away last week.  Saturday was spent washing clothes when we got back, so I'm immensely grateful that I had a few hours drying time even if it did then need a day or two on the airers inside. 

Sunday and I was all set for another day of sorting jobs around the house, but when we visited the British Ironworks Museum we missed out on seeing the Knife Angel.  It is a sculpture created from 100,000 knives that we handed in during an amnesty in the UK some years ago with a final destination of London.  Unfortunately at the point of completion the knife angel was seen as something that promoted the UK as potentially dangerous and would poorly reflect on the capital, so it never got to its destination.  As a result a petition was started to get it to its rightful home but in the meantime it has done a tour of places that agreed to do some education work around knife crime and this time it was in the beautiful town of Chesterfield.

The facial expression is a mix of sadness and anger in my opinion and it was really moving to see in person

Finally we managed to take a lovely shot of the church, which is obviously very famous for its twisted spire, we couldn't go into the church given that it was Sunday and there were services but it was lovely to see.

The rest of the week has been mighty busy and I sit here on Thursday most definitely shattered and ready for my PJ's and family chat with my Mum and whoever else is available.

ROCKING YOUR WORLD FRIDAY (A-HEM SATURDAY) - 42ND OF 2021

Good Afternoon many apologies for my tardiness but we've been away and the signal was appalling, so I've to wait to get home to post. 

So me and hubby had booked a week away in Shropshire, we were hopeful said 21 year old might have managed to get with his fiancee but uni timetables simply didn't allow.  However, we had a lovely week regardless and my Mum came down with her hubby and stayed for one of the nights, so I got a couple of days with my Mum which was lovely.  As she has now started her new treatment and has another course of it this week, we are hoping she might to start to see some improvements soon. 

Anyway the week that was on Sunday we decided to head to Hawkstone Park and Follies, it is somewhere we've never been before although we have considered it a few times before, I had a feeling it would be a rather tiring day (and I wasn't wrong), but the views across the surrounding areas and the stunning scenery definitely made the aching legs worth it the following few days.  Apparently on a good day you can see 12 counties from the top of the tower that we climbed. 

Now this is the tower in question and despite not being a fan of heights I braved the walk up as I really wanted to see the view. 

Hubby also got some great macro shots of which this one was a definite favourite. 

On Monday we headed to Powis Castle, it was a little further afield but worth the trip out, the only downside was that we couldn't take photos inside, which really was a shame as it was rather beautiful, but we enjoyed our visit nonetheless and had a great wander around the gardens as well. 

Tuesday was hubby's choice, as he fancied a look around Shrewsbury, given the town has a lot of history and has a similar oxbow river running around the outside, we sort of thought it would be similar to Durham.  Whilst it boasts lots of independent shots, they haven't really joined the history up fully so it was a roaring success, but nevertheless we saw a few key elements.   We went inside the art gallery and museum and saw the Shropshire hoard found back in 2009 I think it said.  

We also found the round church at the top of the hill, I've never been inside a round church and its history was interesting.  You can just about see the round bit on the left, I'm assuming the parts that dominate the photo were added afterwards. 

On Wednesday I was most giddy to be heading to British Ironworks and Shropshire Sculpture Park, we had a fantastic day, wandering around all the sculptures, enjoying a cuppa, walking around the gift shop, it really was lovely.  I particularly liked this fella made with 40,000 spoons. 

This however was my favourite sculpture of the day, known originally as the Crisis Sculpture it is now known as the Sculpture of Reflection. 

On our way back we popped to Whittington Castle which whilst it wasn't very big, was rather cute

On Thursday we headed to Chirk Castle and had a wander around for a few hours, we've been before although hubby couldn't remember it at all.

Before we headed into Llangollen to meet up with my Mum and her hubby, we had a wander around the town and up to the canal where the horses still pull the canal boats.

On Friday before my Mum set back off we popped back to the British Ironworks/sculpture park and this time we had some blue skies.

Before we headed inside for a cuppa, hubby had a scone which was absolutely huge, and I really loved the cast iron teapot. 

After my Mum had headed off, we popped to the Mere in Ellesmere and did a little of their sculpture trail, the first of which was a nod to the two sisters from Ellesmere that started the Save the Children charity back in the 1920s.

And that was our week away, it was lovely to take some time away, weirdly even though we've had a couple of breaks recently I needed this break more than any of the others, I needed time to let my brain relax and take stock a little bit, we didn't watch any TV, we just read and sat chatting in the evening and enjoyed a hot-tub which was on the property.  It really has done me the world of good and I've come home definitely in a better frame of mind than when I went.

ROCKING YOUR WORLD FRIDAY - 41ST OF 2021

Good Afternoon lovely people tis Friday and with a much smaller audience (if any audience at all), we are finding the positive moments and silver linings in our week 

Well first up was an afternoon making Christmas gifts last Friday, I can't share photos but needless to say I had a lovely few hours sewing on my machine whilst hubby was out on a boat trip for work. 

The weekend arrived and we tootled on Saturday but on Sunday we headed to Chatsworth to blow the cobwebs off and get some fresh air, after our bout of lurgy which seemed to be lingering. 

The start of the day was positive and bright and we got some lovely photos of the flowers

And the quarry garden with the candyfloss tree which had started its annual change of colour and change of scent, at this time of year you get both with this particular tree but if truth be told I think it smells more like toffee apples rather than candyfloss. 

Unfortunately the rain set in mid afternoon so we made our way home. 

We had a lovely tea (takeaway) which we wouldn't normally do so that was lovely.  However, the evening turned into something that I don't want to linger on if I'm honest, whilst my blog has always been public (until now), the only people to happen across it tend to be family and friends I've let know it exists, people I've met in the craft world or complete strangers, never did I ever imagine someone would see fit to google me, I really am not interesting enough for that if truth be told and this weekly blog is more for me than anyone else, so for someone to use these posts which are positive posts looking at my grateful moments and use them against me and upset a beautiful and amazing person who is part of my life has really shaken me to be honest.

Back to work on Monday and I've had a mighty busy week but that was expected but here I find myself on Friday.

My Mum has started her new targeted treatment this week and her new medication, I've been to see her for a few hours this morning which was lovely and caught up with my lovely sister too.  I've been quite reclusive this week as my mental health has been so poor but it was good to talk to them and was definitely something I needed. 

I hope you've had a lovely week, I appreciate that I'm now limiting the audience to come and visit this blog and so in turn not many will see any link I make.  I will obviously still be catching up with Kate, Lisca and Helen.  I've a few people telling me to revert the blog to public but until my mental health is in a better state I really don't feel I'm able to do that. 

I do hope however that you've had a lovely week and that you have a love weekend and week ahead.

ROCKING YOUR WORLD FRIDAY - 40TH OF 2021

 Good morning lovely people tis Friday time for 

Well it is going to be a little thin on the grounds this week lovely people primarily because I've come down with some dreaded lurgy which I'm not managing to shake off so I genuinely haven't gone far or done much, however, even on the quieter weeks there are positives to be had, so let me see how many I can identify this week. 

First up a photo from my Mum who had headed to the seaside for a day earlier in the week when we still had blue skies, she had a lovely trip out and whilst I was at work it was good to know she was having fun. 

Next up a stunning evening sky when we ventured out the other night, the clouds were simply beautiful. 

My Mum's roses bringing her some joy this week, she sent a photo saying how lovely they were. 

Next up my poor Mum struggling with fluid retention following her recent biopsy, thankfully my sister wasn't having any of it and putting her foot down, got her an appointment to have it looked at, they checked her out and low and behold it was just fluid, so they drained it off all 2040ml of it, no wonder she was struggling and she managed to escape on the same day

and the after pictures when they'd removed that and she'd got home to her own bed

She has found it easier to sleep, move about and generally do things bless her. 

Another major positive this week is my Mum's oncologist calling her at the weekend for a discussion about her treatment, he has identified a further treatment they can try before they have to go with chemo, he treatment starts next week, so fingers toes and everything else crossed that it works and we get some more time. 

And finally hubby sending me a photo of his soup preparation when I was at work, he is amazing. 

Unfortunately today (Thursday) I've had to admit I'm just not well so I've stopped at home a rarity for me which most of you will know, but sometimes you just have to let your body recover.  So I've had a very quiet day doing very little, although I have just managed a shower so feeling slightly more human.
