ROCKING YOUR WORLD FRIDAY - 34TH OF 2022

Good morning lovely people tis Friday time for

well after the very busy week that we had had last Friday was something of a kickback day if I'm brutally honest, we tootled about, picked up a frame and spent several hours catching up at my Mum's with my Mum and my sister.

Saturday dawned and we decided to head to Sheffield they had a Lego trail for the kids happening and it was the last couple of days of the trail so we decided to make the most of it and head there to have a wander, we grabbed ourselves a trail map for a £1 and set off, we had a fabulous time finding all the sculptures, stopping off for a tasty coffee on our way around.

Blogger is being naughty and put my photos in reverse but never mind, this was the last one we 'found' at Ponds Forge leisure centre

it looked great from the side

There was a lot of work in this one inside one of the Sheffield Hallam University buildings

this one was called Mollie and was inside Primark

whilst we found this one in the Metro Bank

I loved the colours on this one in TK Maxx

this one was probably the most detailed inside the Light cinema building on the Moor

So much detail and literally hundreds of hours of work

A trio of dinosaurs in Atkinsons department store

Inside the winter gardens

this one was my favourite as I loved the colours

although this one gave it a run for its money, this one was called Vera

at the bottom of the escalators in the Millennium gallery.

We thoroughly enjoyed the trail, sometimes doing something set up for a child takes you back to those fun play like tasks that I think as adults we forget.

Sunday was house cleaning day and some scrapbooking for me, which I really enjoyed (the scrapbooking not the cleaning).

My sister sent me a picture of one of the potatoes my Mum has managed to grow this year, it definitely made us giggle she said she was going to turn it into a jacket potato with cheese.

Monday came too quickly and I was back at the work desk, albeit from home.  I managed to clear down month end and then did some online training which was tedious but necessary, GDPR is such a 'dry' subject.

The rest of the week tripped along at a merry old pace and I find myself back at Friday.

I hope you had a great week.

ROCKING YOUR WORLD FRIDAY 33RD OF 2022

Good morning lovely people tis Friday time for

Well Friday last week despite the silly temperatures outside me, hubby and at one point my sister had a busy day out in the garden trying to put things right after hubby recently building a new planter.  This is due to the foot of garden we have gained since they took the hedge out next door.  Technically we thought we had done with major garden projects when we did it several years ago, but we appear to be having to re-establish our boundary on the left once more.  However, the change has meant that we've created a lovely nook and moved the fire pit over, we are hoping that we might use it a little more frequently, the next stage is building a giant wood store (given the expected massive rises in power costs we think we may become more reliant on the wood burner over the next few years unless someone does something about it) and this will provide a pretty view than I currently have, by the end of the day we were both really pleased with what we had achieved and were very grateful for the help of little sis.

Said 21 year old and his fiancee popped over on their way back from Leeds, they had been to stay with my niece for a catch up and also to find wedding rings which was a successful jaunt out, so it was really lovely to see them.

We had some really sad news about a first cousin of hubby who had passed away recently, despite being next of kin we haven't been notified and found out after the funeral, which seems really strange.  She was such a wonderful lady, I can still hear her beautiful voice in my head, she always dressed beautifully and was forever smiling, she simply lit up a room.  As with anything I think funerals provide part of the grieving process, so you might ask why on earth am I talking about it here, well as I was planting out our new garden planter on Saturday, I chose pink and white flowers entirely to remember this wonderful lady by.  Hopefully every time I see them bloom over the next few months it will give us all time to process and reminisce and remember fun times.

After a very busy few days, we sat out on the back of the house on Saturday night and I enjoyed a 0% pink gin and lemonade which was lovely.

Hubby covered a boat trip for work on Saturday afternoon, the weather looks glorious but really very hot for managing a boat which is predominantly metal.

I stayed at home and put the second series of Bridgerton on again, which I prefer to the first and did some scrapbooking, it was nice to just sit and enjoy my favourite hobby. You will no doubt recognise most of the photos from the last few months posts as I'm on with June's photos currently, the majority relate to our trip to Center Parcs.

Sunday and hubby went food shopping and dropped me at my Mum's house so we could catch up.  We had a lovely natter which was great, she had some news that they need to change her treatment again in the week as the current course isn't resolving the issue in her lungs which is why she is so much more breathless which is a real worry, but I'm grateful that they are looking at another course of medication that may benefit her, if there is something we should never take for granted it is our health and our amazing NHS.

Monday and back to work this time with hubby our CEO had decided it was time to paint the offices, unfortunately we were a little devoid of people but those of us that could get on and paint did.

The rest of the week has been the usual blur, I hope you've had a great week.

Hugs

ROCKING YOUR WORLD FRIDAY - 32ND OF 2022

Good morning lovely people I hope I find you well tis Friday time for

Well this week's post is somewhat devoid of photos I'm afraid, so you might ask does that mean I haven't done much this week, technically no.

First up last Thursday evening me and hubby went out for a celebratory meal, our 32nd anniversary of originally meeting, we got dressed up and had a lovely meal out.

Here we are on the night we met.

Friday I caught up with my Mum and sister at Ikea restaurant for breakfast, said 21 year old came as did his fiancée and obviously my hubby.  We had breakfast and talked quite literally for hours, it was very much needed and I really did enjoy the catch up, however, we were too busy talking to actually take photos.

The weekend was spent trying to get the partially made planter finished, it was no small feat if I'm honest but with continued determination we finally completed it, however, we haven't yet had time to fill it with soil or plants and it is definitely going to take some filling.  However, I was most happy that we got it finished.

We sat and watched the Secrets of Dumbledore at the beginning of the week which was fabulous, although we had seen it at the cinema a few months ago.

Said 21 year old had an operation to his toe nail which has been causing him significant grief for some time now, in previous years he has managed it as it has only flared up 2 or 3 times a year, however this year it has been infected and warranted anti-biotics 6 times, thankfully he was referred through to podiatry, had an appointment and this week the nail was removed and the nail bed was killed off, so now he is on the way to recovery.

Workwise it has been incredibly busy (as always), we are making the most of the time we have whilst young people aren't in, going through and sorting files, scanning documents, archiving and having a proper sort out.  We are now ready to start painting the offices on Monday which will hopefully make a big difference to it feeling somewhat spruced up.

So that my lovely people has been the week that was and with silly temperatures in the thirties again I can't see us doing an awful lot this weekend either.

I hope you've had a lovely week.

ROCKING YOUR WORLD FRIDAY - 31ST OF 2022

Good evening lovely people tis Friday and I'm definitely late in posting - so sorry for my tardiness

Well it has been a funny old week if I'm honest, the weather last weekend definitely scuppered us on the garden front, we had grand plans for getting things done which quite simply didn't happen.  Therefore we had a quiet weekend in on the whole, said 21 year old and his fiancée are currently at her house so the house is relatively quiet at the moment for obvious reasons.

We watched a few films and I enjoyed catching up on some scrapbooking so I'll share the photos with you, you may well recognise the photos, but they are never 'done with' until they've hit a 12 x 12.

I liked the colourway on this one

but definitely fought with the next three

hubby bought me some flowers on Monday which were lovely, although it has remained warm so they are now struggling a little bit.

We had a really hot sticky day at the beginning of the week and the office was stifling, thankfully it has turned a little cooler and breezier which has been a blessing.

I had a tough time at the beginning of the week (so you might be asking why it is here) but the positive is that I finally made some progress both mentally personally and also when chatting things through with hubby, thankfully I'm feeling somewhat better now which is the positive.

Finally yesterday morning when I went to put my make up on I saw the most beautiful morning sky that it compelled me to take a photo.

I hope you've had a great week.
