Good morning lovely people, tis Friday time for
So last Friday morning we went with said 22 year old to have a look at a 2 bedroomed flat that we'd seen online. It's strange but just recently we realised that he is ready for the next chapter of his life (and I suppose in turn ours). As he and his fiancee are getting married next year and have been living out of alternate suitcases every 2 weeks I wondered how they would be able to manage to find somewhere of their own. Said 22 year old is adamant that he doesn't want to rent as he sees the chance of moving onto the property ladder as almost impossible, so it was essential that he found somewhere that they could live within their means. Thankfully the property seems to be in a quiet area and although it needs some work, it is pretty much liveable as it is at the moment, added to which it is a two bedroomed property.
Needless to say, he was happy with the property put an offer in and has had it accepted, so it looks like he will be moving onto the next chapter in the next few months.
Then me and hubby travelled down to Stratford upon Avon, this time though not to see Shakespeare but to see A Christmas Carol with Ade Edmondson playing Scrooge. We had booked to stay overnight in a Premier Inn a stones throw from the theatre.
We got down there earlier than anticipated so had a walk around, as you can see the weather was fine.
We saw some rowers heading out in the boats.
Once we'd checked in we headed out for some tea heading to Cafe Rouge, hubby had burger and I had mussels they were lush.
Then off to the theatre, the play was fantastic but the seats (despite not saying restricted view), genuinely had something of a restricted view because the stage set went back soooooooooo far. Nevertheless we really enjoyed the retelling of the story.
We had an interval drink, where I noticed this over the bar area, presumably a nod to the balcony scene in Romeo and Juliet.
I took a photo of Mr Tenant which we saw years ago.
After the play we headed back to the hotel and had a great nights sleep. We had breakfast the following morning and then I told hubby that I'd checked to see if there were any seats available for the matinee performance in a better spot, but there were only two seats one in the stalls and the other in the gods.
However, after breakfast I had one last check and two seats had become available on row B, I genuinely was gobsmacked and showed hubby who told me to book them.
So we didn't see the play once, we saw it twice and you'll be happy to know that the second time meant we got a solid view of the entire stage including quite a bit we had 'missed' the first night.
The downside to this meant that we had to travel home in the dark via A and B roads with rain which wasn't much fun, but we managed it nonetheless.
We were needless to say absolutely shattered when we arrived home, but we were so pleased to have enjoyed the play more than once.
Sunday dawned and we decided a good walk around YSP was in order, we had our usual sausage sandwiches and see the new Annie Montgomerie exhibit which I can't tell if I loved or loathed.
Blogger putting the photos the wrong way around grrr.
This is the highland cow we walked past on our walk.
Past the Sophie Ryder bunny

then the aforementioned exhibition. This is the vinyl toy that they've produced that you can buy.
then a selection of her creatures, depicted from the times when kids played out on the streets, most characters have a little companion with them and very expressive faces.
Lots of vintage fabrics

I loved the owl faces and the fuzziness of a baby owl
I also thought the pigeon was fun.
The rest of the week fair tripped along as you can probably imagine, before you know it you are back to Monday and back working but the fun weekend definitely makes up for my crazy work life.
I hope you've had a fabulous week.
