Rocking Your World - 39th of 2019

Good morning, tis Friday time for

So how was the week, overall good, very busy as work is a little crazy at the moment, but in all honesty I prefer it that way than too laid back and boring.

I thought I'd share a couple of photos from the previous week that I didn't include last week.  This one had me giggling, yes that is said 19 year old on his birthday building lego.

I honestly thought my Lego building days were over, until they brought out the Central Perk Friends set from the TV show.  Obviously it took him no time at all to build but it really was a blast from the past and I really enjoyed wandering the Lego shop in all honesty.  I don't think you can ever be too old for Lego do you?

Next up last Friday, well we had a lovely day, we needed our main trip boat to be up at the Sheffield Quays for the Waterfront Festival.  From where we are based and due to the speed in which the boat goes and the number of locks we needed to traverse we set off at 8am.  I asked my Mum if she fancied coming as she'd volunteered to help me at the festival on Saturday, so this was a lovely way to spend some quality time with her and enjoy a brilliant boat trip at the same time.

Here are a few pictures from our journey

We enjoyed some blue skies and fabulous reflections on the way up

It was so strange being on the boat and so near the M1 and yet all was quiet all around us with kingfishers swooping along the top of the water.

We even managed a sunny selfie

I enjoyed spotting the graffiti art on the way down, some of which has been commissioned by the Canal and River Trust

My boys putting their backs into it (literally), most of the locks near work are now the electric ones with the turn of the key and the press of a button they operate.  However, the flight up to Sheffield (which is 11 locks in total) are all manual ones, so the volunteers had great fun operating them.

Hubby even stopped to pose (actually I don't think he knew I was taking photos).

It strange being somewhere so tranquil in the middle of a city

But was really lovely

Our attendance at the waterfront festival also marked the end of a summer project for some of our young people.  They had been a self managed group who were bringing heritage and art and infusing it to create sculptures for the festival that we could display on the boat.

This is what they created.

On Saturday we made our way up to the boat via tram and spent the day talking to people about the work that we do.  We displayed the sculptures on top of the boat, they were a real talking point.

And brought lots of people to come and see us

And we enjoyed another blue skies day

On Sunday me and my Mum had another day down at the local craft shop making a mini book.  We had a fantastic day creating together and enjoyed spending another day together.  I'll share photos of what we made next week as I've yet to upload them.

Other positives this week

Hubby bought me some beautiful flowers

And I enjoyed the morning sky as I stood putting my make up on ready for work.

Overall a brilliant week was had.  I hope you had a grand week, if you fancy joining in pop a post together, pop back and link up and we can come and visit.

Rocking Your World Friday - 38th Friday of 2019

Good Afternoon lovely people this is the 38th Friday of 2019 and so it is time for

First up may I apologise for not posting last week, it is the first time I have officially missed one since I started this back in the depths of time.  It would have been so easy to miss this one too as life is hectic, but these aren't just part of my normal routine, they are also a way of keeping my sanity chip in place and at the moment I definitely need my sanity chip in place.

So why no post last week?

Well we had a fabulous mid-week break at Center Parcs.  We switched off phones and tablets and computers and avoided the TV and had a digi detox which was quite honestly fantastic.

We came back on the 13th when I should have posted but it was my birthday and hubby treated me, so I thought it's fine I'll post the following day and well as they say the rest is history.

So Center Parcs

Well what can I say it was absolute bliss, blue skies, forest and family time

There was only 4 of us, me and hubby and said 19 year old and his girlfriend (yes said 19 because after my birthday last Friday was said 19 year old's birthday)

We had great fun for our birthday week, I arranged for them to trial the Aqua Park, so first on with the wet suits

Then floatation jackets

Before heading out onto the lake for a Total Wipeout style half hour

 They ran over obstacles

And fell in the water and had to climb out and had great fun for half an hour.  They had us in stitches as they were laughing so much.

We also went to a quiz night which was fun and we all enjoyed a spa evening at the Aqua Sauna but I don't have photos of that, so you'll just have to take my word for it that we had fun.

We saw some gorgeous wildlife, these little guys were happy we had a fairly constant supply of peanuts

And we adored seeing this down at the nature reserve as they've been elusive the last few times we've visited since they cut down some of the tree cover.

We enjoyed a swim in the main sub-tropical area including venturing to the outdoor pool for a swim.  Those crazy three went on this new water slide known as the cyclone, it looked incredibly scary from where I was swimming but they all assured me what a fabulous time they had had.

It really was fabulous to stop and chill and take some time out.

We came back on Friday and I enjoyed a meal out with hubby as well as having some beautiful presents from family and friends.

Then on said 19 year old's birthday we had a get together at ours with more extended family, it was also an opportunity to say goodbye to said 19 year old's girlfriend as she has moved to Lincoln University, we are hoping we still see plenty of her but we shall see.

I've had a mad crazy and busy week this week, but for those that read frequently you will know that is absolutely nothing new.

I hope you've had a grand week, if you fancy joining in pop a post together, pop back and link up and we can come and visit.

Rocking Your World Friday - 36th of 2019

Good Morning lovely people, a bit slow on the start for the day but without further ado lets see the silver lining, positive moment and reasons I still make the time to post my happy grateful times from the last 7 days

First up some beautiful flowers hubby picked up for me, they really are so very pretty and such a lovely colour

And they are still going strong, over 7 days later

Next up a fabulous day at Chatsworth country fayre, this is one of our summer traditions and for those that have followed my blog for some time you will know that this appears annually on our calendar.  As members of Chatsworth we get two tickets with our membership and we bought two extra tickets for said 18 year old and GF.

We wandered down the first aisle which had lots of craft tents and lovely goodies, before heading to the grand arena for the mounted games.  Again something we do annually, we grabbed this selfie whilst sat waiting for it to start.

They really are crazy to watch the mounted games, teams from different counties compete to complete courses with varying degrees of task and skills, vaulting on and off the ponies they ride, the ponies always make us smile as it is obvious that they absolutely love racing up and down.

I love the fairground rides, the old traditional ones, they always make for a great photo

And the children all seem to love them

No red arrows this year, but still some crazy aeroplanes stunts

Said 18 year old and GF enjoyed looking at the car displays for sale.

We giggled as said 18 year old's GF tried to reach the pedals as she is tiny

This one was lovely and reminded me of Bumblebee from Transformers - however, crazy price and would have been mighty difficult to park (you can tell I'm not a car person can't you - a to b and back again).

We spotted the poppy appeal parachutists heading for the grand arena as we wandered.

We had a really lovely day, the food stalls are now down in front of the house, so the whole country fayre site is definitely bigger.  It meant there were less crowds but it was a mighty busy day for walking.

We headed back to the car for a picnic at lunch, said 18 year old's hair really does need a trim and I told him it resembled a pineapple!

Which resulted in this stare!

The rest of the week have been incredibly busy with work but I noticed a distinct difference in light levels as we headed out to work, the days are definitely drawing in.

It has been a tough week work wise, with far too much to do, however, our lovely Janet who deals with the kitchen and cleaning has saved me more than once this week by providing a bit of toast - much needed sustenance on a mighty busy day!

And that my lovely people is my week.  I hope you've had a good one too, if you fancy joining in pop a post together, pop back and link up so we can come and visit.
