Well another fab kit that I've enjoyed working with this month, I find I almost exhaust supplies from my kit before any of the challenges appear, thus making the challenges even more challenging if you know what I mean.

So first up Challenge #1 Invisibles and Clear Cuts

Now I've got ample piles of vellums and such like but always have an issue when it comes to attaching them, so this time I decided to use a vellum envelope, I had on my desk which was full of orange sequins, I attached on the left with staples and used two metal brads on the right! Photo taken very early one morning on our walk around Center Parcs after New Year!

Then Challenge #2 - Use a date Stamp in an Interesting Way

So I matted the photo onto a data stamped piece of white cardstock - the 'selfie' was taken on a trip to the theatre when we'd stopped for a drink. We had gone to watch Stomp live, which is fabulous I might add!  Said 14 year old rolled his eyes at us which is always funny these days, mainly because my phone doesn't have a forward facing camera so it always makes for a fun activity!

And finally Challenge # 3- Create an unexpected Title

I decided to go for a long title, technically with a question posed to us by these two Victorian Pick pockets, who asked us "Do you Fancy a Real Life Victorian Experience?" and when we frowned, they said they'd be quite willing to pick our pockets for us!  Thank you for this great challenge because I didn't know how I'd manage to capture this humorous moment if I'm honest!

So how have I done with all the lovely layouts I've done from my kit this month, you may recall that I started with 51 sheets of paper at the beginning of the month I think the total is 29 layouts - so not bad, not bad at all!  So that leaves me to say roll on the 1st March - hope the kit proves just as much fun!

CKCB - 15 16 AND 17

Morning all, well I've been up since the crack of dawn (or so it feels) and had a physio appointment which was a tad pointless - referral on to podiatry to see if they can get this foot pain free - we shall see.

So I thought I'd share another three layouts that I created with my counterfeit kit this month, the first up is the Mad Hare from Alice in Wonderland, this was by far my favourite when we wandered around Chatsworth last Christmas.  He had such an amazing expression and I loved all the detail.  It was also lovely to see them recycle the Snow Queen's throne from the previous year which is what the hare sat on!  A simple layout but I took my lead from the colours in the photos!

Then you can't tell but the border of this one has shiny gold elements to it, kept it quite simple adding a few elements such as the hand stitched kisses along the top.

And finally the dressing up corner at Chatsworth - as you can see everyone wanted to be the Mad Hatter!

COUNTERFEIT KIT - BLOG HOP - SO WHICH CHALLENGE DID I DO?

Good morning, well I've had such fun with my kit this month (having to top it up over the weekend) that I thought it would be good fun to join in the fantastic blog hop, showing off a few layouts linked with the Challenges set through the month

Challenge #1 Was to use a list on your layout, this one could also have met the criteria for challenge 3 as well which was to use a negative, as the list is using the leftovers from a sticker sheet that I'd fully used.   The photo was the 'before' shot on the day of the colour assault course.

Challenge #2 Was to use book print, which was quite apt as I still had some book pages lurking from another challenge I'd done so I didn't even have to go searching.  This shot of a beautiful cobweb was taken at Yorkshire Sculpture Park.

Challenge #3 The official use of a negative, I'm enjoying the leftovers when I punch the butterflies out, this is the second layout I've done using this method this month using my kit!  Finally this photo was taken on the Trans Penine Trail that we ventured along one day in search of geo-caches.

SUMMER OF COLOUR CHALLENGE - WEEK 5

Crikey I didn't think I'd get this one finished if I'm honest as I was away for a few days last week, but it just shows you when you put your mind to it you can achieve anything (plus I hate only doing half a challenge, so I had to get it done).  So without further ado this is this weeks rendition

Isn't it funny how you see a colour scheme and wonder if it will work and low and behold find that it does!  Gelli plate fun as always, add to it some red and blue cardstock, photos, memories and a few embellishments and I was set.

Said hubby and said 13 year old talking about how 'easy' this was (then proceeding to take 20 minutes to achieve it).

Then sieving through the 'archaeology' at the dig!

And finally the 'Viking' creating coins in Yorvik, together with his Viking Health and Safety perspex piece in front of him! 

Then A4 sheets of gelli printing I pulled the prints first and then wondered what to paint - last week was owls - this week I've gone for fish!

I wonder what colours we will get for the final week - sob!

SATURDAY MORNING - FAMILY AND FRIENDS SCRAP 365 CHALLENGE.

Good morning everyone, well it's rather grey and miserable here at the moment, but they have forecast that the blue skies should turn up eventually this afternoon (fingers and toes crossed on that one).

Right last version of the scrap 365 challenge this morning (I loved this challenge can you tell).  This time said 13 year old and said niece found a game when we were on holiday and came peering around the corner wearing it - they had us in hysterics!

I enjoyed this layout because it used up lots of items I'd got just lying around, the half circle with the journalling has been on my desk an age.  By adding a few strips of paper here and there and adding a bit of handstitching it was done.

SCRAP 365 CHALLENGE SKETCH

Morning all, well it's Monday (again, already), where do the weekends go, actually this one went in a flurry of activity sorting mother-in-law out very late at night, we had a feeling there was an issue on Saturday night, but had it finally confirmed last night when we got a Doctor too her who confirmed what we had suspected thankfully she's now on antibiotics, hopefully life will resume a degree of normality (or at least some sort of normal sleep pattern).

Right up lovely people, layout time, there is a fab sketch challenge over on Scrap365 and this month's sketch is one of those that you can use over and over again.  This is my take on the sketch

Up close you can see the stamped elements and glossy accents across the page.  The photo documents my niece painting my nails for me just before we came back off holiday last year, she did a fab job and I was worried that I'd forget to take a photo, so caught them on my phone camera and put them through instagram, it's funny as it documents where we travelling generally at that point in time as you can see from the map in the background!

COUNTERFEIT KIT LAYOUTS 18, 19 + 20 THE FINALE!

Yes that's right these are the last three layouts from my counterfeit kit this month, I can hardly believe it either and I have every intention of making my kit for March even bigger if I possibly can because I actually finished using the kit around mid-month!  

Now this first layout was following a successful go at the Simple Recipes challenge on UK Scrappers this month, the original layout was subtle soft colours, but what I discovered through the challenge is the way of using up those tiny scraps to still create a great layout! 

This was taken at York Castle Museum and by cropping the photo and getting rid of the surroundings it keeps it's comical look! 

Next up the impossible task of filling a teenager, it doesn't matter how recently they ate, or how much food they recently consumed, the sub-tropical pool always leads to these two needing food from the coffee bar! 

Up close I managed to ink up a chipboard heart and stick to one of the cut elements from a sheet within my kit, hand stamp the word 'drinks' and add a little turquoise stitching!

And finally this one.  Documenting us finding the new Buddha statue at YSP last year, only to discover that we'd come across the same statue a few years earlier at the Beyond Limits Sculpture show at Chatsworth when it was 'for sale'!

This layout really was using the very last elements of my papers in the kit. The pink strip across the top had the hole punched in it ready for hanging the pack for selling so I put the 'Found It' statement over so I could incorporate the strip in the layout.  

The stars I cut out and used on other pages and then rounded the corners and stuck it down (normally this would end up in the waste bin), a bit of washi tape and a couple of hand cut 'flags' and we were finished

Phew is about all I can say.  Can't wait to start the March kit!
