COUNTERFEIT KIT CHALLENGE - LAYOUTS NUMBER 16 + 17

Morning all, well more layouts courtesy of the counterfeit challenge kit, the first one is based on a sketch from week 2 of the UK Scrappers challenge this month, so win win.

I got some plain copy paper and folded a sheet in half, drew half a heart on the same, cut it out and then unfolded it, I then used this template to create the large heart at the back.

The layout was taken when we were at Center Parcs whilst we were in the subtropical pool area, it's unusual to see hubby without his glasses these days so I wanted to scrap the photo!

I used up one of the small journal cards I made using Lesley's inspiration behind the photo at the top left. if you want to see Lesley's original post on these click here

I cut out circles with my Big Shot and hand cut the tags.  I tried the layout initially on a patterned background but to be honest it got 'lost' so popped it onto white.  I used up the hand stamped Love and the Always and Forever sticker.  I hand stitched the red crosses onto it.

Next up I hand stamped the black cardstock with white hearts (forgotten how much I love white ink), then attached the red rose paper to the front (I gutted the black card, couldn't help it, it's my frugal scrapping).

I then 'filled in' some of the hearts with glossy accents.  I stamped the heart journal blocks and cut out and used another of the cards inspired by Lesley above the top right of the photo to lighten the overall look of the layout.

This photo was taken looking out over Wenlock Edge which was immediately in front of a holiday cottage we were staying, the view changed as the week went along as we arrived when the fields were covered in snow, hubby enjoyed watching the view change as the week progressed!

Close up you can see the glossy accented heart.

SCRAP365 - MARCH SKETCH CHALLENGE TAKE 2

Morning all, well I did do more than one take of the Sketch Challenge over on Scrap365

This is my second layout, this one when I was sat on the sea wall at Barmouth chatting with my sister, photo capture by hubby!

I used a combination of papers but they were predominantly the Papermania papers released last year with a nautical theme.

I did manage to add a bit of washi tape, as well as some tiny punched tags and a navy heart that I've had lurking on my desk for ages!

A little bit of bling on what I've now realised is a bit of a blurry photo!

If you fancy joining in check out their blog here

And this is the lovely sketch that the above layout was based on.

CKCB - FEBRUARY BLOG HOP LAYOUTS 14 + 15

Good morning one and all, welcome to my part in the CKCB members' blog hop, if you are blog hopping then you should have reached me via

Susanne's blog which can be found here

So which challenge am I going to show you?

Challenge 1 - the Ugly Sweater challenge or perhaps, challenge 2 the angled background challenge or could it be the final challenge which was the 10 minute craft dash.  Well not wanting to do anything by halves - I've done all three.

First up Challenge 1 - The Ugly Sweater Challenge

The heart sheet was ideal for hand cutting (yes no ruler was used in the creation of those zig zags) the zig zag elements top and bottom.  Photo of hubby when we were cooking outdoors last year, glass of wine in hand!

Punched some little hearts and threw them on the page confetti styley stuck them where they fell!  Double matted photo and one of those stickers and it was done!

Challenge 2 - The Angled Background Challenge, this layout documents one of the few 'reasonable' phone photos we got when we went to see X-Factor live last year!

And Last but Not Least the 10 Minute Challenge - by this point supplies were in running low, so I made a very quick card!

I honestly can't believe how much creativity I've had out of one kit

At the beginning of the month the kit was put together and looked like this

As I type this up on the 20 February ready for the blog hop - the kit now looks like this!

Will I be joining in next month?  Definitely

Right off you go now to the next participant on the hop which is Cindy

SCRAP365 CHALLENGE

Well I love the sketch on the Scrap365 challenge blog - click here to see this month's post

This is the original sketch

And this is my first take on the sketch (yes I liked it so much I did more than one layout but I won't share them all at once).

First up "I Lost My Hat" - Literally it fell in the water when we went to an underground mine which you had to get to by boat, I nudged the back of my hat on a bar and it flipped over and fell in the water.

Thankfully it wasn't very deep and my niece was able to scoop it out - I was reluctant to put it back on though!

Up close I finally managed to use some of those office supplies on my page!
