Morning all, well emptying the blog folder continues, three more layouts and nothing in reserve to replace it - really need to get some scrapping done. First up family selfie when we went for a wander on the land around the cottage we stayed in during our visit to Wales in the summer, it was a beautiful evening!
Then the silhouette of me and said 15 year old ahead of hubby as it were, mixed this with a load of positive sunshine yellow papers
And finally me and said 15 year old enjoying an outdoor fire when we visited Hodsock Priory in the spring to see the snowdrops. The fire was fantastic (as was the hot chocolate).
Hello lovely people, still working my way through folder, so without further ado a photo from Brodsworth Hall
The Mickey Mouse sky when we were away in Wales
A wander around Nostell Priory
And macro shots of those gorgeous snowdrops
And yes the end is in sight on this folder, but I'm happily stacking up new layouts which will be appearing shortly in the folder - ready to share and I'll let you in on a secret - I've just sent off a photo order of almost 700 photos - you have been warned.
Morning all well Wednesday greets us fine and dry if not a little on the cool side here in Yorkshire and I am still emptying that blog folder.
So here I am sharing the next 'batch' of pages, I'm slowly getting through them, first up photo taken by said 15 year old when we were at Hodsock Priory earlier in the year, I loved the photo and even used it as my profile picture on Facebook for a while.
This was a 'mopping' up layout using papers from a Simple Stories pack that I got from Jen at Wear Crafts, I used some background stencil work and then just added the simple elements on the page. The photo was taken outside the local garden centre when we had had no snow whatsoever, but I felt the photo emulated winter!
Me and hubby at Chatsworth sitting on a 2-D chair it was very strange and not particularly comfortable but made for a fun photo! Again Simple Stories papers which I love.
A shot of our nearest Castle - Conisbrough, blue skies day, it's always fun to visit and they have a new visitors centre this year.
Finally a snowdrop picture from Hodsock, we got some really lovely photos close up of these little flowers and there were so many different varieties it's proved difficult to pick which one I liked the most to scrapbook!
So the question is - is it empty and the answer - not quite!
Yay I made it to Wednesday LOL - the week has been a mighty strange one up to now, so I'm glad it's Wednesday, busy day scheduled ahead so hopefully it will be a quick day - but we shall see!
As those who've wandered across recently will know I've been trying to 'clear' my blog folder of the older layouts and so I have a few more this morning to share.
First up me and hubby at Hodsock Priory during the snow drop season, we had a lovely day and I found out about it through a very serendipitous moment the day before, I'd never heard of the place until then!
I actually enjoyed layering this one up with lots of different elements and embellishments.
Next up a closer shot of me and hubby in front of Gainsborough's Old Hall, I shared another layout the other day when we were miles away - so I had to do a layout that was close up!
And then a layout I did at a local scrapbook class with my Mum, unfortunately the class is no more, but we had fun when we were there. Photo of my niece on Christmas Day last year!
Then a lovely bright one to match the flowers at Bodnant Gardens earlier in the summer, absolutely fabulous place to visit during the Rhododendron season.
And last up a family selfie at Nostell Priory. I loved painting up the huge letters but didn't have a clue initially how I was going to incorporate them into my layout!
So there we have it - more layouts shared, I best get making some new ones don't you think!
Morning lovely people tis Friday - the first of March and the 10th Rocking post of 2015 - yes we have got into double digits!
Well the grateful moments for the week - said 14 year old embracing the fun run and doing the 5K - the fact they got sidetracked in the kids playground and arrived back via a detour was just an added bonus!
Next grateful is one of those serendipity moments, said 14 year old said "where are we going to take photos for our painting challenge" - followed by confused expressions of parents! Ohh yes we did say that - fun run happens to be 20 minutes from Hodsock Priory which had it's last snowdrop weekend - so we put two and two together and toddled off there! So why serendipitous? Well I'd never heard of Hodsock Priory until Friday last week when a colleague mentioned going there to see all the snowdrops - I love it when life gives you a prod like that don't you - sometimes its easy to ignore the prod - or maybe not even realise what it is - but it is a prod for you to act on, keep an eye on life this week to see if you can spot it prodding you!
Next up fresh air and an outdoor fire!
Hot chocolate on a cold day
Hot chocolate with marshmallows made it nicer
Hot chocolate with marshmallows and a chocolate stirring stick made it perfect
Further grateful hot chocolate added extras - weren't added extras cost wise!
Family selfies in front of some of the snow drops!
Wintery skies and those bare trees
Snowdrops up close
Hidden paths
And beautiful gate houses which we weren't allowed near as there was a wedding going on!
These two winding each other up!
And cuddles with hubby - extra special as I write this as he's had an op today (thursday) which hasn't gone quite according to plan and they are having to keep him in overnight, we will know more tomorrow - to say I'm feeling a little anxious is an understatement!
More family selfies
Which took an age to take and had us giggling from ear to ear.
My cup from the other week all shiny and new
And said 14 year old's cup
So that my lovely people is that, a good weekend, some key positives and grateful moments from the last 7 days hope yours have been just as positive - if you fancy joining in pop a post together, come back link up and we can come and visit.
