ROCKING YOUR WORLD FRIDAY - 4TH OF 2022

 Good morning lovely people tis Friday time for

Last Friday we had a sorting and catching up type day.   We needed some more grit salt for our little bin outside, our drive is a bit of a nightmare in winter so we always have some grit on hand just in case and we were running low.  We also had a look at some wood whilst we were there because we have plans for extending one of the woodstores at the back of the house in spring and we wanted to see what they had got.   After that hubby went and bought some antifreeze and I needed some pyjama tops so we went our separate ways and then met up afterwards.  

I popped to see my Mum for a cuppa, I hadn't seen her for a week or so so we sat and drank tea and put the world to rights and I got to see my sister who I'd not seen for a bit, she was a bit down as she has a poorly cat at the moment and the vet isn't sure what the issue is, so we were trying to give her some practical advice. 

Saturday we headed to a nearby reservoir we haven't been to in ages for a good walk, but it was sooooo muddy, I don't think we will be visiting again until the summer when it is drier. 

In the afternoon hubby was gilding a picture we have with gold, silver and copper leaf and I did some gelli plated envelopes to go with my gonk cards I shared last week, they didn't take as long as I thought which was good, so they can all now go away until Christmas. 

My Mum and sister came and visited, my Mum mentioned that she isn't venturing out at the moment unless it is the hospital which is making her a bit down, so she came up to catch up and have a natter, but my sister is still low and despite her own trials and tribulations she bought me flowers, which are still going strong a week later.  I'm still grateful for the visit, just wish I could do more at the moment. 

Saturday night we tried a new dish, it was an cheesy aubergine bake, which was lovely, I think we've a few tweaks to it but overall definitely a success. 

On Sunday we went to YSP again for a good walk (and a sausage sandwich which was lovely with a pot of tea).  Mark Hearld has now issued a new book and so there were a few new pieces of artwork to admire on the stairwell on the way up to the cafe, I do so love his work. 

We had a relaxing afternoon and I made up a scrapbook kit from my supplies so I could make a start on photos and then unusually for us, we headed out to see Ross Noble perform his show. 

We had a brilliant night and laughed so much, this was his set and our view, which was fabulous, hubby came out with an atrocious headache due to laughing and the cheeks on my face ached from laughing, definitely a fantastic night out. 

Monday was busy busy, but we did pop on a re-showing of one of the Mischief Movie Night's In that kept us sane during lockdown, it was one we hadn't seen so that was brilliant and the money to purchase was going towards a Samaritan's fundraiser, so raising money for charity at the same time. 

One of the mornings this week, I arrived at work to this stunning sunrise, which really does make you feel grateful to be alive. 

On Thursday night we went out, we had pre-theatre dining booked, the meal was delicious and the restaurant is part of the local college, so it is students getting ready to enter the catering industry.  This was our absolutely delicious pudding. 

A lovely date night with hubby it has to be said. 

Then off across the road to watch "Murdered to Death" a bit of a spoof take on Agatha Christie type plays, which was a good laugh and a great night out. 

I'm going to apologise for my tardiness, I was going to do it all day yesterday and before I knew it we were off out again, but I'll tell you about that next week.

ROCKING YOUR WORLD FRIDAY 8TH OF 2016

Good Morning, tis Friday means only one thing

Well on a week when the weather has been changeable the work days have been long, we don't have quite so many photos to share unfortunately, but I've a few nonetheless!

First up we all went on a walk at the weekend, given that said 15 year old was still getting over the time differences with New York we did wonder whether it would happen, but it was hubby's birthday, so we headed to the local dam to brush off the mental cobwebs and had a lovely walk albeit a little cold! 

These two really are lovely to be around, there is always positive conversations and chatting and I love the natural look of the photo too!

And look it was a blue skies day when we had the walk, sunshine and water and blue skies - really are good for the old mental attitude!

We even stopped at the cafe at the end, it was heaving inside (probably due to it being Valentine's day and everyone was partaking in cakes and coffee after their walk), so we ended up sitting outside, but I didn't mind because, although it was cold we had good company and blue skies to enjoy!

I'm doing some of these photos in reverse - apologies, we had our 'romantic' evening meal on Friday and Saturday night.  Friday night we cheated and had an M&S meal for two (as we normally do), it was lovely and we really enjoyed just chilling out and spending time together.  Said 15 year old was in the TV blatting things on Xbox, in case you were wondering! 

The M&S dessert was lovely - although somewhat lost on the plate, I'm not a big lover of white chocolate but I just about tolerated this! 

Saturday afternoon, my Mum, sister and niece headed over for some family time (it was my Mum's birthday too), we had made cakes and scones so it was more of a tea party.  We had a good few hours chatting which was lovely! 

The rest of the week has been a bit of a blur, work work and a bit more work, on the positive side, the days have flown by and I've been very busy - which is always good! 

I've got another meeting this morning about job number 3 (don't ask) and then some time to myself this afternoon which I'm looking forward to. 

I've managed some scrapping this week and at last count was up to 64 layouts this month so far! 

I've also got another photo order to pick up (not that I don't have enough to be getting on with!)

ROCKING YOUR WORLD FRIDAY - WEEK 7 OF 2015

Good morning, well tis Friday once more and the 7th Friday of the year already, let's see what positives and grateful moments I've got to celebrate this week.

First up has to be the return of the Six Nations Rugby- yay!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really enjoyed the match on Friday night and as we were watching the games on Saturday I got to do some scrapbooking, I made a start on 23 layouts - was much fun and I finished them off on Sunday night, all I need now is some proper daylight so I can photograph them!

Sunday found us escaping the house and heading out geocaching, to say we 'failed' is probably an understatement, but hey, we were out of the house, wrapped up warm enjoying the gorgeous winter sunshine and the blue skies what more could we want.

But eventually we just walked back to the dam to enjoy the view!

We did see something that made me giggle when we were walking, we had to cross via a pedestrian crossing, I was confused as we approached as their appeared to be two crossings, but then I realised the other one wasn't for us.

Next up said 14 year old being his usual humorous self and subjecting himself to a second bite of a slimming world recipe for brownies that ended up too bitter.  he posed so I could document the same - isn't he a star!

Catching up with an old work colleague for a cuppa on Tuesday was fantastic.

Getting a box of goodies I'd bought from Jen at Wear Crafts - hurray in time for the half term break - YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As was shopping for hubbies and Mum's birthday presents on Thursday evening with my little sis - who came along too - we were there hours and had great fun, it was really lovely to have a natter and catch up and a successful shopping trip!

Visit to solicitors on Monday to sort wills out, not fun but grateful to have received some good advice and to have got them finally signed off.

And that my lovely people is going to be my lot this week, it's been a varied and mixed one, but I am grateful for all the little happies that happen that make life so much more positive.
