ROCKING YOUR WORLD FRIDAY - 41ST OF 2026

Good afternoon tis Friday I'm a tad late and it is time for

So first task last Friday was a trip to the tip to get rid of the garden waste from the day before.  This has hit my list because everything aligned, we got there as they opened, we weren't waiting out on the busy road, we got rid of the items quickly and were home and changed in time for us to head out see the finale of the Pride of Lions which has been occurring over the south of the county over the summer, if you remember we had managed to find a few on our travels but with 300 to find we failed overall to find a noteable amount (the hot summer not helping).  So to get the chance to head and see all of them on their farewell tour was not something we wanted to miss.

They were set up in a car park in Meadowhall, we paid the entrance fee (all of which goes to Sheffield Children's Hospital which is great because it means it raises even more money) and had a lovely time having a wander around, taking photos.  I got the souvenir brochure and hubby got the souvenir bottle of Henderson's relish.

These were the cubs decorated mainly by schools and youth groups.

I loved the face on this one

Spotting lions painted by your favourite local artists was awesome

We loved all the work on this, they had also done a lioness in pink in a similar pattern.

There were so many to enjoy

These were my favourites, lion and lioness

Then back in for the final cubs, this one being very cute with his pumpkin face.

Then we went to Ikea to meet up with little sis, brother and his fiancee for a coffee and cake date which was lovely.

Saturday and my sister came over for a day of crocheting and drinking tea.  She managed to finish her scarf, I however made a giant error with the cardigan I've been making.  Kate be prepared to have a genuinely good laugh!

Firstly this is what happens when you don't pay attention and keep going

The cardigan has no opening for neck and appears to have taken on a jumper format.

Lots of undoing and my sister asked if I'd been making it for Hagrid, I didn't know what she was talking about until both me and hubby ended up wearing it at the same time.

That said hubby seemed to rock the look completely!

It definitely provided some laughter which was very much needed. So a good deal of time this week has been spent undoing all of the work, making it smaller and resewing it.  I genuinely have no idea if I'm going to even wear it, we shall see.

Sunday and we had our son, daughter-in-law and grandson over for a proper Sunday dinner, which was lovely, hubby doing the majority of the work as normal of which I was incredibly grateful.

Monday and back into work, a fairly busy week overall with a lot more to sort next week, but I will worry about that then.

Tuesday evening we went to the local theatre to see 'Of Mice and Men' it was done with only two actors and was only 65 minutes long, but it was a hard hitting play and incredibly well done.

Thursday and a day at home, we had the chimney swept in the morning, then I continued to fight with Publisher which is currently still working, trying to extract essential information whilst hubby did some batch cooking.

Overall it's been a good week, family, art, time with hubby, theatre - I genuinely cannot complain.

I hope yours has been good too.

Hugs

Ys, that sounds like a great week. Lots of laughs too. With that jumper you could pretend to be a ghost for Halloween. That was funny. I bet you could have kicked yourself. All that work!
I loved seeing all the lions and lionesses (and a few cubs). So colourful. I assume they are now being auctioned off to raise even more money for the children's hospital.
I remember reading Of Mice and Men at school and because I was young didn't understand it. I don't think it's that suitable for teenagers. It was very violent with issues that are beyond the comprehension of a modern teenager. But you're no teenager and I'm sure the theatre adaption was very good.
Have a lovely weekend,
Lisca

sorry I didn't see this yesterday, for some reason after work I forgot to check again if it was posted... and then it was time for the Traitors! Love the idea of all the lions together, there are some amazing examples there. The rest of your week sounds great as well. The cardigan really did raise a smile! Happy Fri...Saturday!! Helen xx

What a week. Aren't all those lions such fun. There is so much work in them all. I did laugh at the jumper, but at least you stuck with it. So I hope you find an opportunity to wear it. Sorry I am so late visiting. We had a busy weekend and now have a similarly busy week. ore about that in my next post. You had lots of family fun and I shall have the same this week. Kate x
