Rocking Your World Friday - 49th of 2019

Good morning lovely people, tis Friday time for

Well it has been another strange one, but let's focus on the positives.

Last Friday we had a fabulous catch up with family over coffee around the end of the day.  It was fabulous to have a proper catch up and natter.

They left quite late and I almost abandoned the idea of going to Barnsley for their Bright Night event, but decided that we had time at least to see Gaia again if nothing else.

I'm so glad we went, sometimes these spur of the moment ideas are just the best, we parked locally so didn't have too far to walk.

I loved the laser cut large scale nativity scene outside the town hall

Which also looked mighty festive, the lights changed according to the music which was brilliant.

We sat in the Church and watched the digital show of the Night Before Christmas

We walked to the fire garden, which whilst cold was awesome to see

Then down to the college to see the star of the show

then to the Cooper gallery and their new light installation outside

Before heading back to the Town hall

We then headed down to another installation

And wandered back through the Victorian covered arcade in all its splendour!

Saturday we headed to Kelham Island for their Victorian Christmas Market.  It was very cold but we had a fabulous time and my sister came as well.  I created an arty shot for my journal that I do in December

Me and my sister posed for a photo in the sleigh

We headed back at tea time and went around to our local Christmas tree festival held in the local church, one of our traditions.

The trees are done by local adult and children's groups and we get to vote for our favourite in each category.

this year's theme was Christmas films and my favourite tree was the Snowman

although the Grinch tree was funny

I love all the detail that goes into to making the items for the trees.

We then got to enjoy the market that was held in the Community Centre next door, lots of lovely stalls for us to enjoy.

The rest of the week has been a bit of a blur in all honesty, some good some not so good but still lots of positives to be grateful for, for when times get tough so many people can make such a difference offering support or a helping hand, I feel very blessed.

I hope you've had a grand week, if you fancy joining me, Lisca and Kate then pop a post together, pop back link up and we can come and visit.

  2. So many lovely decorations to enjoy. I always love your tree decorating competition. So much work goes into each one. The bright night event is amazing, especially all those fires. You are lucky to have so much going on quite close to home. nice to share it with family members too.
Enjoy the rest of the run up to Christmas. Kate x

  3. Oh what a lot of Christmas cheer. Your evening in Barsley turned out to be a success. Beautiful all those lights. And the Gaia is splendid.
Kelham Island fair looked like fun too, and I guess it was great to go out with your sister.
The tree festival is wonderful. They had only just started doing that in Keynsham the year before we left, so I have seen one or two. It is really nice what certain organisation come up with. (and they get to promote/advertise their group.)
    Do have a lovely week,
    With losts of smiles,
    Hugs,
    Lisca
