ROCKING YOUR WORLD FRIDAY - 6TH OF 2022

 Good morning/afternoon/evening lovely people tis Friday time for

As most of you lovely people will know 'stopping' isn't something I do easily if I'm brutally honest, but we had such dreadful weather last weekend, that we decided to just kick back and have a housey weekend.

We did manage to finish the deep clean on the office including having a proper sort through our wardrobes which was definitely overdue and finding things I forgot I even owned.  It resulted in a pile for the charity shop as well as a pile of mending, but I don't mind that if I'm honest, I've ordered a few bits that I need in order to sort the repairs, so I will get on with those in the next couple of weeks. 

I bought some flowers for me, my sister and my Mum.  The bunch of flowers my sister had bought me the other week had almost all died off with the exception of the carnations and so I bought some more roses to add to them.  They have really made a stunning display! 

Other than that the rest of the weekend was spent scrapbooking and watching Six Nations as well as binge watching Reacher a series we've been waiting for an absolute age for, hubby has read some of the Lee Child books and we have obviously seen the Tom Cruise films, but it was fab that they put more time into the story. 

I really do love the time spent scrapbooking at this time of the year, despite 'catching up' last year, I am now officially behind again, but I'm hopeful I can make a dent on that.  I've made up a kit from my ample supply of papers and whiled away some significant time scrapbooking this lot. 

I'm sure you will recognise most of the photos as I've shared most on my blog at the time, but it is good to get them scrapbooked if I'm honest.

Me and hubby enjoyed the weekend, it has been quiet as said 21 year old has been at his fiancée's house but we don't mind. 

Monday I was back at work and as usual the week has tripped along at a merry old pace and I find myself once again at Thursday.

ROCKING YOUR WORLD FRIDAY - 5TH OF 2022

 Good morning lovely people tis Friday time for

Well we had a busy day on Friday mainly tootling around the house having a good clean, it felt like it needed some TLC so we set too for a few hours to get it sorted and in the evening we headed out to the theatre in Sheffield, it was lovely to find that they had 0% lager, so me and hubby could enjoy a drink together. 

We had gone to see the Da Vinci Code and this was the set, it really was an amazing show to watch and followed the film almost, they had tweaked a little, but changed one fundamental which meant that we were a little confused at the end of it, but enjoyed it nonetheless. 

Saturday and I was very busy sorting bits around the house, and did the deep clean on the utility room so that's another thing ticked off the list. 

I enjoyed an afternoon of scrapbooking on Saturday which was absolute bliss, I'm not very good at stopping but scrapbooking is my type of 'stopping' I'm pleased with what I've got done, although the stack of photos indicates that I've not made much of a dent if I'm honest. 

Sunday we headed out to Yorkshire Sculpture Park and had a good walk, although the high winds meant the boat house area was out of bounds whilst they check the trees, we had a good walk nevertheless. 

Monday and I had a day working from home and managed to catch up on some critical report reading.  Said 21 year old's car went through its MOT without issues.

Wednesday evening we headed out to City Hall to see Jason Manford, we were very early hence the empty auditorium, however it was at capacity when the show started and we had a fabulous evening. 

Thursday I had a day off, I had a delivery due by 12 noon so we were stuck in but I didn't mind as I tootled and caught up with jobs around the house. 

In the afternoon I sorted a few bits that needed doing and then we popped to see my Mum, she is doing really well at the moment, how amazing does she look here, it was so lovely catching up and having a natter and putting the world to rights.

ROCKING YOUR WORLD FRIDAY - 4TH OF 2022

 Good morning lovely people tis Friday time for

Last Friday we had a sorting and catching up type day.   We needed some more grit salt for our little bin outside, our drive is a bit of a nightmare in winter so we always have some grit on hand just in case and we were running low.  We also had a look at some wood whilst we were there because we have plans for extending one of the woodstores at the back of the house in spring and we wanted to see what they had got.   After that hubby went and bought some antifreeze and I needed some pyjama tops so we went our separate ways and then met up afterwards.  

I popped to see my Mum for a cuppa, I hadn't seen her for a week or so so we sat and drank tea and put the world to rights and I got to see my sister who I'd not seen for a bit, she was a bit down as she has a poorly cat at the moment and the vet isn't sure what the issue is, so we were trying to give her some practical advice. 

Saturday we headed to a nearby reservoir we haven't been to in ages for a good walk, but it was sooooo muddy, I don't think we will be visiting again until the summer when it is drier. 

In the afternoon hubby was gilding a picture we have with gold, silver and copper leaf and I did some gelli plated envelopes to go with my gonk cards I shared last week, they didn't take as long as I thought which was good, so they can all now go away until Christmas. 

My Mum and sister came and visited, my Mum mentioned that she isn't venturing out at the moment unless it is the hospital which is making her a bit down, so she came up to catch up and have a natter, but my sister is still low and despite her own trials and tribulations she bought me flowers, which are still going strong a week later.  I'm still grateful for the visit, just wish I could do more at the moment. 

Saturday night we tried a new dish, it was an cheesy aubergine bake, which was lovely, I think we've a few tweaks to it but overall definitely a success. 

On Sunday we went to YSP again for a good walk (and a sausage sandwich which was lovely with a pot of tea).  Mark Hearld has now issued a new book and so there were a few new pieces of artwork to admire on the stairwell on the way up to the cafe, I do so love his work. 

We had a relaxing afternoon and I made up a scrapbook kit from my supplies so I could make a start on photos and then unusually for us, we headed out to see Ross Noble perform his show. 

We had a brilliant night and laughed so much, this was his set and our view, which was fabulous, hubby came out with an atrocious headache due to laughing and the cheeks on my face ached from laughing, definitely a fantastic night out. 

Monday was busy busy, but we did pop on a re-showing of one of the Mischief Movie Night's In that kept us sane during lockdown, it was one we hadn't seen so that was brilliant and the money to purchase was going towards a Samaritan's fundraiser, so raising money for charity at the same time. 

One of the mornings this week, I arrived at work to this stunning sunrise, which really does make you feel grateful to be alive. 

On Thursday night we went out, we had pre-theatre dining booked, the meal was delicious and the restaurant is part of the local college, so it is students getting ready to enter the catering industry.  This was our absolutely delicious pudding. 

A lovely date night with hubby it has to be said. 

Then off across the road to watch "Murdered to Death" a bit of a spoof take on Agatha Christie type plays, which was a good laugh and a great night out. 

I'm going to apologise for my tardiness, I was going to do it all day yesterday and before I knew it we were off out again, but I'll tell you about that next week.

ROCKING YOUR WORLD FRIDAY - 3RD OF 2022

 Good evening lovely people tis Friday (and I'm late) for 

Last Friday we had a lovely walk from where we live to the next village along, as you can see it was stunning blue skies which were an absolute joy.

It was a bit muddy at the bottom and this doesn't look hilly but it absolutely was

Thankfully the half way point meant a pint of Old Peculier for hubby and a lovely hot chocolate for me. 

and on the way home we got this stunning sunset. 

and grabbed a selfie, clocking up just over 10,000 steps in the process (definitely a win win).

Saturday was a tootling around the house sorting bits and bats out which was lovely and I finished the epic task of making Christmas cards.  I make my cards in January, when there is little in the way of stress to make them.  Apologies for the wonkiness of the photo, I was absolute trying to get them all in (and this wasn't all of them), but had to stand in the porch to manage it rather unsuccessfully as you can tell.  All painted Christmas gonks with watercolours, fine liner, some stickles and some white pen accents and I'm genuinely over the moon with them. 

Sunday and a beautiful crisp January day, we headed to YSP and had our lovely sausage sandwich breakfast and a pot of tea, before doing another 10,000 step walk. 

The Ai Weiwei sculptures have been cleaned and moved and looked fabulous against the blue skies.

Another selfie, we definitely had a good weekend. 

The rest of the week has tripped along at a merry old pace as only it can, work has been mighty busy this week but we've got plenty done which is good so I felt like we've done a good job and that my lovely people is your lot today, I hope you've had a great week and looking forward to the weekend ahead.
