Afternoon, a late one for me this week apologies, I had every intention of preparing this yesterday but alas it was not to be. However, without further ado let us clock the silver linings, positive moments and little things in life that genuinely make your heart lighter, time for
Well last Friday found us at the dentist, but a full bill of health and a thorough clean so all was good.
Saturday I'd arranged my second 'crafty' day with my sister and daughter in law, my niece couldn't make it but I'm hoping that will improve when she is more local to us. This time we set to on sewing tasks, I had a sneaky feeling that this would mean little personal sewing time (and I was right, the only thing I managed was to machine stitch Pigling Bland's tail). My sister had brought some items to alter and she tried out my Mum's sewing machine, which is far newer than the one she had and so went home not only with altered clothes (albeit that she only brought 2) but also with a new sewing machine (well new to her).
We did however spend the majority of the time on making a set of dungarees with my daughter in law, she had managed to find some amazing fabric and we had great fun cutting the pattern out and then getting our head around the pattern (truth be told despite the 'beginner' statement on the same it was something of a convoluted pattern if truth be told), however with the hours we spent I was absolutely determined that we get them completed. Alas as is normal for me at the moment I didn't capture that on photo. I did however, capture a photo of said 24 year old and his Dad thoroughly enjoying the Six Nation's Rugby game on TV, it seemed familiar and strange in equal measure as it is a while since the two of them had enjoyed watching a game together.
Sunday was a quiet day and with fairly awful weather out, we stayed put for the day, book reading and I finished off a set of layouts dating back to 2023, the first one my d-i-law at one of her hen parties.

I'm still enjoying scrapbooking layouts of my Mum albeit it can be hard, this photo genuinely makes me smile, she was trying to take a photo of herself in her mirror but she decided to use her selfie camera, I'm sure if I zoomed in my Mum would genuinely go on forever, if only that was the case.

Soon it was Monday and we were treated to such a pretty sunrise that morning.
But with it being a red sky that morning it didn't take long for the weather to change and the rain to hit us again.
Overall I've had a good working week, there was a small blip on Wednesday that I could have done without but I'm hoping it is now resolved.
Wednesday night we had booked for the theatre with pre-theatre dining.
We both had the smoked haddock scotch egg on a curried lemon mayo, which was lovely it had a definite kedgeree flavour going on if I'm honest
Then I opted for pan friend cod with clam chowder
Whereas hubby went for the homemade pork faggot
Both mains were very rich if truth be told, but we enjoyed them nonetheless.
Hubby opted for lemon tart dessert and I had sticky toffee pudding but weirdly neither of us took photos so you'll have to imagine them.
Then we went to see 'The Silence of Snow' a play about the life of Patrick Hamilton, a one man show charting his entire life and the things that moulded his life. It was unfortunately not the happiest of lives and despite him having significant book and play success including his play 'Ropes' being made into an Alfred Hitchcock film he became an alcoholic and despite extreme ways of treating it (including electroconvulsive therapy) he remained addicted to drink and eventually died due to health related issues. It was a sad story but incredibly well acted and we both really enjoyed it.
Thursday was a weird day, we hadn't planned anything out if I'm honest we popped and got a shop in from the Company Shop topping the freezer with fish and meat which should see us through the next month and then headed home, my sister needed to print something so she popped over and then I had a lovely surprise as my niece was with her. She had been for a job interview and it was so lovely to see the two of them, we chatted away the afternoon - definitely good for the soul and that my lovely people was my week.
I hope yours has been splendid and busy and interesting all in equal measure.
Hugs
