COUNTERFEIT KIT - OOH IT'S BEEN A WHILE

Good morning lovely people, well it has definitely been a while since I joined in with a counterfeit kit, some of the kits didn't speak to me so I opted out as it were, other month's just raced passed.  But this month with the arrival of over 400 photos - I was determined to get plenty scrapbooked and the counterfeit kit is always an amazing way to get lots of layouts done.  So without further ado this is my kit for the month

So as always I start with the papers, I just kept adding to the pile out of my stash!

Then I found lots of embellishment items to add to the kit

Hit the scraps box 'just in case'

And then used the link on the counterfeit blog for the frames before adding sentiments inside and printing off!

So I'm all set for this month!

COUNTERFEIT KIT - FINALLY

Good morning, well it would appear that I haven't got off to a roaring start with my counterfeit kit this month - absolutely incorrect!  I put the kit together on the first it's just trying to find decent light levels to photograph layouts that I'm struggling with!

Finally downloaded the photo of the kit and yes before you say it - it is a big kit, but the joy of doing this challenge is that I get to combine lots of different manufacturers (rather than staying safe with just one), I get to use up lots of paper that I might not always use and because it's all colour coordinated I can just crack on.

I also grabbed lots of little bits to add to the kit, these are out of a box full of 'extras' that I've created or made, plus a few doilies and some washi tape!

I will start sharing layouts now I've finally got a few photographed, I didn't get off to the roaring start of January if I'm honest and I'd only managed a scattering of layouts by Friday, thankfully Six Nations Rugby meant an afternoon at the craft table on Saturday afternoon and I pulled together 23 layouts, which I completed yesterday evening.  The kit is almost empty!

WEAR CRAFTS - 12 PLEDGES KIT - LAYOUT 3

Morning all, another layout for you this morning, this uses the 'gutted' element from the page I showed you in layout 2,  I turned the paper over to utilise the other side, mounted it onto black cardstock, used some glossy accents around the black edge.

I corner rounded my photos and all the elements on the page.  Again keeping it simple as these papers really are lush, I love the colour combination. 

This layouts documents New Years Eve at my sisters, something of a tradition if I'm honest!

WEAR CRAFTS - 12 PLEDGES KIT - LAYOUT 2

Morning all, well on with the next layout created using the fabulous Wear Crafts 12 pledges kit for this month.

I cut some cream card stock into the shape and then placed it on the paper (thus allowing me to gut the paper to use elsewhere.  I then stitched a running stitch around the edge, using some old cross stitch threads that I've had forever.

I used some of the 'card' like elements that are on the pages to create to accents to the page, I ruffled the organza ribbon that came as part of the kit behind the photo, matted the photo onto some cardstock that I had lying around and then added three simple strip elements to complete the same.

As part of the same range there are some stamps which I believe Jen also has for sale and I used some of these to create a couple of accent elements, below the photo (the pencils) and to the right of the card element on the top left.

The photo documents my crazy sister.  Whilst Christmas shopping we came across these giant slippers that were meant to put both feet into, my sister decided to see how they would look if you wore two of them like normal slippers, I had all on taking the photo as I was laughing so much!

WEAR CRAFTS - 12 PLEDGES - LAYOUT 1

Well good morning, time to share a layout created from the fabulous 12 pledges kit released by Wear Crafts this month.  These papers are utterly gorgeous!

This paper really is 'almost' done and rather than cutting into it I just wanted to add a little to it to bring the layout together.

I distressed the black paper photo matt and the little squares too.

I added glossy accents to the flowers on the left to make them pop and used one of the cut cards for the small title and journalling.

WEAR CRAFTS KIT FOR NOVEMBER ...

Good morning, my first post for Wear Crafts design team and what a fantastic time I've had with it.  Now I'm not sure if Jen realises just what a 'frugal' scrapper I am when it comes to kits.  I mean I love to see how much I can actually get out of the kit, that means that you can really see what fantastic value a kit really is.  So this is what I made, the only 'additions' to the kit have been white cardstock, which I'm sure we all have 'in stock' a little embroidery thread (from my extensive days of cross stitching), distress inks with a little bit of stamping with stamps I already have and a mask.

So my first layout was this one, the papers really are gorgeous, really heavy weight, you can feel the quality with the papers.

Up close you can see the detail, this layout really is based on gutting (when you take the piece out behind thus maximising the kit) and matting and layering!

This is the pink border, cut out and adhered to a sheet of white paper.

Next layout, again gutting and layering as I go, this one at a jaunty angel.

Up close I've distressed the edges of the paper (and the hole punched hearts) and you can see a little of that embroidery thread.

Next up, another fun layout, I chose to cut the elements out one of the sheets and layer them up, a few more hole punched hearts and those gorgeous alphas at the bottom right hand side (part of the kit).  I edged the page with a bit of distress stamping to make the page pop.

Up close, you can see I've rounded the corners of the 'bingo cards' that I cut from the big sheet and you can see the gorgeous dark green alphas!

Then supplies were becoming a little thin, so I background stamped a sheet of white cardstock with a verse stamp and a punchinella mask, before cutting out squares and using up the reverse of one of the gutted sheets to create the square frame around the page.  The title is one of my own alpha stamps coloured in.

Up close you can see more of those gorgeous tiny alphas stickers that came with the kit, plus the background printing.

Then I was left with offcuts, mmmm what could I do, big shot at the ready and cut those hexagons, made a huge pile of them on my desk and then created this final layout. A little distress stamping at the opposite corners, hand written journalling and a hand stamped title and it was done.

Up close you can see those hexagons fit together perfectly and because it's such a fabulous kit it just comes together so easily!

But wait I still had some hexagons left?

So created a quick patchwork card

Feeling inspired well the bad news is that this kit was so popular it's sold out however, Jen has some fabulous other kits on her site and introduces a new kit frequently - you just want to see how gorgeous the December kit is - honestly it's beautiful!

BOUDOIR LAYOUT

Good morning all, another feminine layout of mine, I blame the kit I was using.  Another one I was unsure of until it was complete and then I was quite happy.

I managed to use photos from when we visited Attingham, the Boudoir room had been meticulously renovated and cleaned, they'd left a small part to show how discoloured and dull it had become over the years.

The lady who had the task of bringing the room back to it's former glory, had spent several years in this room and she'd used cotton buds to clean it - can you imagine!  I don't think I'd have had the patience.  But the room did look amazing for it!

Apparently the word Boudoir (according to the guide at Attingham) is the french word that means to sulk?  Really ladies retired to their boudoir to sulk?  Actually come to think of it - maybe they did!
