WOYWW

Good morning - is it really Wednesday already - well that's scary isn't it!

I'm here sharing my desk as Julie over at the stamping ground encourages us to do every week!

Check out her post

  here

So you may be thinking a rather odd looking desk for me and you'd be right - it has been taken over by the 15 year old who is still on his Easter break!

Yes that's right I currently am having to share this space !

The inktense pencils are mine - but being used by his lordship, the giant pencil sharpener is his as are the pens, the wood burning items and the camouflage face - so what is mine you may be wondering?  The face drawing top right, the glue and other things all hidden at the moment!

So up close the camo face as he calls it, this one he used some water brushes to blend some of the ink tense pencils.  It is actually lovely to see him sketching as it isn't something that he has always done -but I'm going to continue to encourage him on this front!

This is my picture I did last week when we were away, I saw a pin on pinterest and was inspired by oversized eyes - I'm not a face drawer but I was quite pleased with this one, particularly once I blended the hair!

Over the other side, you can make out his first attempt of woodburning on the wooden disk using the wood burner he got for Christmas, you can also see some of his pen sets and some of my hair clips LOL!

Oh look better shot here - he was playing with the different heads the wood burner came with - I was massively impressed given it was his first go, he has done wood burning using the sun and a magnifying glass before, but not a decorative piece as it were.

And that my lovely people is that - for another week!

WOYWW

Good morning all, time for a nosey on the desk as it were, shocking light levels this morning.

So this is my desk this morning, an empty can of diet ginger beer, a stack of papers in line with the latest CSI colour scheme, a few distress inks, a pile of 3.75" x 2.75" embellishments for a few more Lesotho layouts that I'm working on, using some papers and embellishment sent by the lovely Annette (aka Voodoo Vixen).

Glue, a money box, my Harry Potter time turner (unfortunately not in working order).

The beginnings of a new book hubby put together for me the other day! A giant pot of white acrylic and another box set made after a craft class a couple of weeks ago.

Close up of the new box set

Which opens up like this

And looks like this

The conundrum is what to put inside the boxes, they are approximately 6" x 4" for the bigger one and 4" x 3" for the two smaller ones, someone mentioned chocolates but that doesn't really float my boat, I was thinking of mini books but have done nothing about that yet.

What would you put inside them?

Have a great WOYWW

WOYWW

Crikey it's been a while since I joined in with WOYWW but thought I would this morning as a few minutes on my hands

You should have found me from Julia's desk here a place to meet up and share our productive creative spaces on a weekly basis!

So this is the aforementioned desk - still enough space in the middle to scrap (just).  The pile of paper on the right is for a new kit I've put together inspired by the colours on the CSI blog.  The rest is remnants of papers from another kit I've just finished off.

If I turn to my right - my main scrapping cupboard is in sight - (yes isn't it a sight! - needs a tidy - I won't show you the floor).  The doors pull out and then slide in so they are above the items in the cupboard, these thin shelf like spaces are excellent for putting completed layouts before I photograph them!

As you can just about make out here.

Talking of layouts I've a few I've recently finished.

Scrapping an impromptu family get together

Said 15 year old before a weekend team building retreat last year

And a balloon release at school last summer - ooh for some blue skies today!

Happy WOYWW!

WOYWW

Morning all, tis Wednesday so what's on the desk this morning mmmmm

Well I'm back scrapping again, I wouldn't say that I've moved firmly off the starting blocks, but I am at least putting pictures, titles and paper to good use at the moment.

The pile nearest to you I did a while ago, using gelli printed backgrounds

The one in the middle is last night's creation

And the far side documents the stack of photos, mini books, mail art etc that I have going on at the moment, hope you are managing some creativity

Happy WOYWW

WOYWW

Good morning lovely people, crikey Wednesday already again - where does the time go, time to have a quick nosey on my desk.

Tis just as bad as last week if I'm honest.  I've got a stack of layouts I've been doing as part of the Counterfeit Kit Challenge this month in the centre of my desk.

Nearest to you is a stack of scrapbook and mini book kits I ordered from Jen at Wear Crafts that I'm still in stroking mode rather than using at the moment.

New Craft Stamper magazine, I love the stamp this month so had to buy it. Loads of glues, my cupcake money box, my 5 year diary my book of happy, my time turner, lamp, acrylic white paint, washi tape, hole punches, two more paints linked with my summer of colour challenge.   Another mini book made and completed on the left.

Oh I do love being busy at my table!  I spend most evenings sat at it, said 14 year old and hubby usually hit the sofa or floor and put TV or a film on, whilst I am busy creating at my desk!

Those that visited last week may remember a mini book I was really unhappy with that I was going to beat into submission - well said book is bottom left of the last photo and has duly succumbed to my intention to make it a book I like - it will be just a few more tweaks and it will be done - or else!

Happy WOYWW off to visit Julia's desk now

WOYWW

Good morning lovely people, crikey Wednesday already mind you I'll be glad to get this one out of the way 30 degrees and office based is not a good mix if I'm honest.

Desk is full to bursting again (as you can see), I've got some postcards ready in plastics to send to Free Art Friday Swindon on my desk!

A couple of scrapbook layouts using gelli plated papers using some of my summer of colour papers created from week 1, remnants of paint from weekend arting.

And finally a mini book I'm fighting with (literally) in the yellow as not happy with the colours - will continue to fight with it until I beat it into submission (hopefully).

Some of my summer of colour sea horses too!

Off to check on a few desks now!

WOYWW

Morning all - well my desk looks busy but I haven't touched it since the weekend!  New papers, my pens, paint and my peg loom

A shot from the other end you can see the summer of colour goodies as well

Up close my time turner - really wish it worked so I could squeeze more in to my day!

And up close work on my peg loom off to share with Julia at Stamping Ground

Hope to get around a few more desks this week

WOYWW

Morning lovely people - well I managed a photo of my slightly tidier desk this week, I did tidy it after last week but it's back almost full to bursting again!

Summer of colour challenge items taking centre stage, week 2 (the pinks and oranges) week 1 the blues.  I've also got some gelli plated backgrounds top right.  A selection of 5 mini books I made at the weekend which started using a kit from Wear Crafts and well then turned into a slight addiction - hence the 5!

Paints and glues on my desk and this weeks paint selection!

WOYWW

Oh it's an age since I joined in with this, but thought my desk warranted a giggle as it were so here it is!

I know there is technically no room to create, I've got my Summer of Color challenge (the blues and greens) on the table, a mini book made using a kit from Wear Crafts bottom right, a load of stamps on my chair, baby wipes (needed for gelli plating yesterday) glue galore - I really will have to have a good tidy later!

WOYWW - CRIKEY IT'S A LONG TIME SINCE I JOINED IN THIS

Good morning fellow WOYWW - hope you are all well, I've seen a few posts this morning which prompted me to join in for a change.

First up my desk (which is it's usually untidy affair if I'm honest).  You can see the last layout I squeezed out of my counterfeit kit this month on my desk from last nights scrapping.  My favourite heart hole punch, my tally sheet for my UK Scrappers layouts.  My diary, my pink foam pad I use behind my layouts when I'm punching holes ready to stitch, the TV remote control, a huge box of photos I'm still working on and this mornings parcel that I picked up which is in the blue paper from the lovely Jen at Wear Crafts!
Through in the pool room a much more sensible usage of the pool table don't you think, paper pack after paper pack lined up together with a few layouts, an unfinished jigsaw and said 13 year old's cycle helmet!
Finally a glimpse of my paper problem!
I won't show off my rather untidy craft cupboard this morning as they make me want to 'run away run away!' Happy WOYWW people!

Fancy joining in check out Julia's fabulous blog - click  here

WOYWW

I thought it was such a long time since I did WOYWW and given that my table is looking relatively normal I'd join you all this week
I've got a double scrapbook layout that I'm just finishing off, working with pink papers is always fun because it rarely happens, the photos are from a weekend to AFTH and so it seemed only fitting to use some Blonde Moments paper, this is one where the circles were actually a combination of pink, green and brown but I was struggling to pull the pictures together so I sat painting some of the circles last night - so therapeutic!   To the top right is the stack of photos I've got to work on, flicking through them last night I can see the need for a minibook or two shortly, at the middle of the desk at the top is some mail art I've been working on.  My time turner is next to my lamp, a stack of stamps that need sorting and the pull out piece under my desk has a stack of prepared layouts ready and some huggies for my inky fingers!

Hope you have a great day and thank you for looking.

WOYWW A DARCY PAGE AND DO YOU THINK I CAN?

Good morning one and all - how are you this Wednesday - weather is a little grey and cloudy this morning but currently dry which is good.  Here is the state of my desk this morning are you ready yes this is exactly as it looks this morning and yes I do realise there is little in the way of space to work LOL!
What you don't normally see is some of the other space that I often use - this is our Pool room - fairly obvious the reason why and yes I do appreciate that that is not how the table is supposed to be used!  Layouts that are work in progress, two cycle helmets and the start of a wooden crossbow hubby is making - glider in background and certain 10 year olds go-cart in the bottom right of the picture - the only time this room is truly used as it should be is Christmas!
At the other side of the room is my stack of papers on the rack (I got from the local craft store when they were having a sort out ) and I still claim that I don't have enough papers LOL!  There is also a giant canvas a couple of wooden Celtic knots on the floor and a back of chipboard/greyboard
Up close on my desk a layout I did last night which I think I've overworked - boo hiss will have to resolve later - the challenge was to
  • put something secret on it - check
  • Include either instructions or a recipe - check
  • Include four techniques that you've learned in the last four months - I haven't learned any in the last four months - the techniques I use go wayyyyyyyyyyyyy back so I thought I'd use four techniques that I've not used in absolutely ages, therefore paper weaving, making frames, hand cutting title, using an envelope to create a pocket for the something secret!  However this morning I can see that my over zealous stamping hand has attacked the page with some vigour - will have to resolve later - hey ho!
Then the art journal page - it's the word 'nearby' on Darcy's 52 word challenge (see link on right), and was the perfect excuse to use up the type written messages my 10 year old has been typing to me and his Dad recently since the purchase of said typewriter in a charity shop, together with a row of bats he made and coloured in which I thought were adorable!  Together with the craft stamper magazine stamps from last month and little bits of journaling in between, overall really pleased with these pages and definitely a view of what was 'nearby' when I created it!
Finally the wooden man I bought the other week - minus his beard - he needs a sand so he's still sat there because strangely enough I can't actually touch sandpaper - just one of my weird traits so have to wait for DH to accept the challenge - however little wooden man who I'm going to call Herbert because he needs a name has a huge hole for a mouth so I can see some facial moulding coming on - didn't know I was into a bit of the old plastic surgery now did you!
Finally the word prompts from Darcy's word challenge, the next one is 'purpose' and the one after that is 'indulge' - should be fun!  So what's on your workstation this Wednesday.  I've been considering making the PIF gift for the second anniversary - but I have two issues, the first is will anyone want what I've actually made and the second is what the hell to make?  Mmmm what do you think - still have time?
Hope you're all having a great day!

WOYWW...

I'm unsure of how I managed to be here this week but I am - so the question is
what's on my workstation today?
I'd probably define it as my creative space - but you might be tempted with the words 'a mess'
Well top left we have the puddles page for Darcy's 52 words - see button on the right to find out more - its' not finished but it's getting there, technically I wouldn't profess to be an artist or a painter I do all my painting on my art journaling books with my fingers and sometimes has to revisit what I've done to get me to like it.
Then top right is my other journal which is A5 in size when closed up a half done page from our visit to YSP earlier in the week

Middle centre is a stack of cards which I've been working on - I'm not a card maker but like using scraps up - so this is me sorting out the oranges and yellows in my scraps pile - just finishing off some scanning of my images I've created to finish them off - will probably not put a sentiment on there until I know what I'm using them for!  Excuse stig cup top right of picture - cup from last night
and huggies on top left - my art journaling wet wipes!
and then finally this guy!  Please tell me you love him - I think he's gorgeous he got donated to one our charity shops through work- is made predominantly of wood and has quite poor posture to say the least!  His legs come off his body and his arms move, their is a void inside but I can't tell if he was a musical box or something in the past?  Why you may ask have I bought him - to alter him of course - I can't cope with twee flowers - so any suggestions of what to do with him?
And don't tell me to pop him in the bin - I just couldn't he's awesome!

WOYWW

Good morning bloggers and here we are again at Wednesday - where does the time go!
Without further ado - fanfare please - this is the sorry state of my desk this morning
The current look is 'precarious' (as in the balancing of items LOL)!

We've got the 12 x 12 layout top right that I've wanted to drop kick all week, added a few more bits to it last night and may allow it to stay - if it promises to sod off into an album pronto because it definitely is not one of my best.

Bottom left is a secret - I could tell you but then I'd have to .... LOL - so not mentioning that - let's just say good ideas that flow often mean lots and lots and lots and lots of work without me realising it and I can't do small and sweet - nope mine have to be supersized - I'll explain in a later post!!!

Top left is another layout for Darcy's 52 words (see button on right, click to find out more or even to follow along) - the word for that particular layout is follow - I am catching up honest - I've so enjoyed the freedom of this challenge the one word means you can run with that and make it your own, or take the dictionary definition (which Darcy provides) or failing that you can look at the questions she puts to you about it and think and write on those!

Right trying not to make this a super long post this morning so I can get around some desks, I never manage all of them because there are so very many! Hope you have a good WOYWW!

WOYWW ...

Mmm let me think well there is this little lot - forgive me if the photo seems dark it looked OK on the camera LOL!  Lots of art journaling, potential art journal magazines and a stack of Christmas cards
What do you mean you want a close up - well OK if you insist art journal to the left one at the bottom is work in progress I just kept adding painting it wasn't behaving so more paint and more paint and then white painted circles no idea why so don't ask LOL.  Top left is my almost complete 'Build' page for Darcy's 52 questions which I'll share properly on a later post and then there are some A4 art journals loose sheets behind which I'm not sure what to do with at the moment.
Then the stack of Christmas cards (I don't do cards so forgive the amateur style but I'm getting ready for Christmas don't you know)
Then bits cut out for cards no idea what I'm going to do with them - keep moving them around my desk.
Finally a copy of the all the prompts from Darcy's 52 words which I'm on catch up with at the moment.  Having the words and the detail allows my subconscious go to work which is what I like - currently on the word 'encourage'
If you stop by to say hello - thank you - if you get to here you might as well say a proper hello!  Hope you're having a great Wednesday (or Thursday or Friday etc depending on when you arrive LOL)
