Good morning lovely people tis Friday time for
Well you may have considered last week's post somewhat vague, but there was a reason for that because we were actually away.
We had taken a 9 day holiday to Rhodes for some proper time of rest and relaxation and that is exactly what we got.
We stayed at the same hotel we've been to previously in Ixia.
We enjoyed a drink in the evening before we headed in for food.
We had some beautiful days and the clouds on a couple of the days were stunning.
These two driftwood pieces were in the reception area of the hotel and are new.
We went into Rhodes Old Town twice during our stay and had a look around one of the Museums.
We saw some mosaics
and enjoyed the cool interior as it was mighty hot outside.
I loved the quirky Greek backstreets
and we enjoyed the harbour and looking at the stunning boats.
We also spotted the Rhodian crows, someone had unfortunately left food and they were helping themselves, I'm unsure that a chocolate spread covered waffle is a great diet for them.
Another beautiful sky
We got this photo on the beach
and the sky just got better and better
We giggled at the Greek Loch Ness Monster
Stunning sunset and caught the plane in the shot as well
Our second trip into Rhodes Old Town and we went to the harbour to begin with.
and had a wander inside the church
then a walk around the Medieval Old Town
I love the hibiscus flowers.
We stopped for a drink and snack in the back streets. I had peach tea and went large and it came in a pint pot. We ordered breads and dips which were delicious. The dips were houmous, tzatziki and whipped feta and chillis.
I love this building.
The hotel we were staying had introduced a special Greek meal night that you could enjoy. This was the menu which we assumed we would choose from, but believe it or not we were served with everything.
These were the breads
and the Greek village salad
Spinach pie
Fava beans and mushrooms, I wasn't keen on the beans (it was the texture that I had issues with), but I loved the mushrooms.

These were lamb and were similarly delicious
Then the main course (we were starting to struggle if truth be known)
and dessert which was incredibly unusual.
and a photo of yours truly looking a little on the red side if I'm absolutely honest.
This was our last night and we flew back on Sunday evening and Monday morning I was back in work, to say it was something of a culture shock is an understatement, but I managed to get through my meetings and the work I needed to sort so all was good.
Our son, daughter-in-law and grandson came for tea on Tuesday night which was lovely as we had a post holiday catch up which was much needed.
I hope you've had a fabulous week.
Hugs
