Good afternoon everyone, I hope you are having a fabulous Friday time for
Well last week my order from 'Pot Gang' arrived, this is a fruit and vegetable subscription kit, it has come with all the things to start off strawberry, potato and chives which I have yet to get started on, but I am excited to sort.
Last weekend, we decided to have a leisurely breakfast, you know the type where you spend time creating a lovely breakfast, I'd seen this recipe online, barley cooked with shredded apple, milk and water with honey. Then some chopped apple cooked with cinnamon and a smidging of honey and then to finish some toasted nuts and a dollop of Greek yogurt. It took some time to do on the hob (we are now planning to recreate but using the slow cooker), the barley is quite chewy which was great because it took us time to eat, was very tasty and very filling, definitely one that we will do again.
On Friday I enjoyed the second episode of Bridgerton (rewatching the first episode to really draw out the series)
We had hoped to head to York for their annual ice trail, but it has been wall to wall rain since the beginning of January and I really just did not fancy it, so we missed that and had a slow weekend at home which we both really enjoyed.
We had a walk on Saturday morning which was very wet and miserable, so you can imagine how much I enjoyed this sandwich on our return, bacon and egg on homemade wholemeal breadcake, absolutely lush.
I also had lots of time over the weekend to craft and my plan was to finish the wedding photos of our son and daughter-in-law's wedding from 2023 (yes I know I'm behind and yes I do scrapbooking chronologically). The photos have been an absolute joy to do. I bought a wedding themed kit from a nearby bricks and mortar craft shop (The Craft Box at Elsecar) and mixed with some other paper I'd got and a lovely paper pad that I'd bought from the same place. I also mixed in some of my other papers when the photos demanded it and by the time I'd finished I have completed 45 layouts from the day. I have already shared some of these but the rest of them are here to enjoy.
Ready for the bride
My d-in-law and her Mum
A lovely black and white photo with a great reflection
This one of my Mum and family, she had such a wonderful day
My sister and niece and me and hubby
Then me and my Mum and sister and me and my sister
A layout of the bouquet
Then a double page layout
Fun evening photos
The 'rings' shot and just having a moment together
Posed shots with parents and grandparents
First dance layout
I was really pleased with this finished layout, I love the photo and I think I did it justice
I had to scrapbook the footwear as my d-in-laws socks made me giggle (zoom if you are not easily offended)
Getting out of the wedding transport
Me and hubby with our son caught on an old fashioned film camera
Getting ready
Another double page layout, there wasn't a dry eye in the house during this wedding.
Their beautiful wedding cake
Maid of honour and bridesmaids
Groom and best man shots
My d-i-law really enjoying the cake at the reception
And this fun photo caught by the official photographer, apparently she was pulling faces at her little bridesmaids who were being mischievous
After the ceremony shots
All the hugs from family and friends
A walk in the long grass between rain showers
Hubby being mischievous when talking to our daughter-in-law
Me with my cousin and her daughter and my Mum.
My niece and her fiancé having their portrait done during the evening
This is not a staged shot, during the photographs outside, the heavens opened and a passing patrol car asked my d-in-law if she wanted a lift back to the main building where he was heading, which she took. She is being helped into the car by the best man.
Whilst I was busy doing these, hubby was enjoying films and some Six Nations rugby on the TV.
This week I've been off work which has made a lovely change, but I'm going to share my week next week with you (because it is highly unlikely that I will have anything else to share with you next week otherwise).
I hope you've had a wonderful week.
Hugs
