ROCKING YOUR WORLD FRIDAY (WHOOPS) - 24TH OF 2023

 Morning all tis not Friday tis Saturday but let's pretend

Well last Friday I had to go into work to finish of a few things, hubby stayed at home for the boiler man to repair the boiler and also to sort more on the stairs.

After the work bit at work, I headed down to a wonderful class making bath bombs, it was a class for those struggling with mental health and there are times in the last few months where I've definitely struggled.  So I had an amazing couple of hours with some wonderful people most of whom I didn't know and a lady expert in all things bath bomb related including some wonderful essential oils.

We spent 2 hours mixing potions and creating these wonderful items, which if I'm honest have remained in my dining room making the room smell amazing for the whole week.

So I decided that we really needed some down time and escape time away from the house, so we set off for a wander around this beautiful house (which is a stone's throw away) for a wander around both the house and the gardens. 

The pillared hall is currently home to a digitial exhibition from an artist we have previously seen at YSP Jason and his Argonauts.

to blow up models, highlighting the plight of those with disabilities.  

We wandered the house the neon horse still within the Whistlejacket room

but alas the recent roof replacement has meant the roof space has dried out and is now causing significant issues with the beautiful ornate plaster ceilings, which for how have had to be literally braced to prevent further damage. 

We stopped off for a cuppa and a honey and rosemary shortbread

Outside the garden was really hot but plenty of shade, so selfie time

We found a new sculpture on the hill, apparently a camel teapot

Sunday and off out again this time to YSP, breakfast first

then on for a lovely walk we saw ducklings

this was is an actual car that has been distorted like a cartoon car going around a corner - it really did take some getting my head around

he definitely had me giggling

he really can't help himself

and this was my favourite piece, the orange against that blue sky was absolutely stunning

the walk was exhausting but fun, we came back home and had a snooze and woke feeling peckish but not ready for anything major to eat, I managed to put this together from things I found in the fridge and freezer and it was delicious. 

The rest of the week has tripped along at a merry old pace (as always) and yesterday was manic (more about that next week).

ROCKING YOUR WORLD FRIDAY - 23RD OF 2023

     Good afternoon lovely people tis Friday time for 

So first up a family boat trip last Friday, as you can see the weather was glorious. 

We had a lovely trip chatting and being together and putting the world to rights, so that's my first rocking moment of the week. 

Next up was spending some time at my craft table in the new craft room (old bedroom of said 22 year old), honestly it was just nice to stick and glue and enjoy a 0% G&T on a Sunday afternoon - nothing finer. 

I managed to create some much needed birthday and anniversary cards using one of the many packs of paper I possess to replenish my much needed birthday card stock.  I used lots of glossy accents to finish off the cards. 

Next up annual boiler cover identifying a problem, thankfully because it is within 10 years of being installed it is covered so that's a massive grateful moment and we booked it back in to be resolved.

Enjoying time with hubby over the weekend, it was just nice for blue skies and to be plodding, we are still (yes still) on with the stairs, but progress is being made. 

Work was crazy busy all week, but fun nonetheless so another happy positive from the week. 

Thursday night I finally caught up with my sister, we went to the theatre with pre-theatre dining.  This was my starter an ox-tail raviolene and it was very tasty

The beef steak with peppercorn sauce, butternut square puree, chargrilled leeks and a few chips

Dessert was genuinely amazing, chocolate torte with pistachio panna cotta and double chocolate ice cream. 

Hubby can't do chocolate so he enjoyed this raspberry based dessert which he said was beautiful 

and then we headed over the road to watch this which was brilliant. 

So overall a good week for us.  Just before I leave you I have had a conundrum posed and wondered if anyone knew what it was, this was found in a haberdashery box but we've no idea what it is for, a friend sent the photo but me, my Mum and my sister are stumped so I thought I'd check on here to see if anyone knows what it is

and that my lovely people is my week, I hope yours has been bountiful with positives.

ROCKING YOUR WORLD FRIDAY - 22ND OF 2023

 Hello lovely people, slightly tardy - apologies time for

So last Saturday was the first of said future daughter in law's hen parties organised by her Mum.  It was the perfect activity at a paint a pot business, we got there just before the bride to be and it was a lovely surprise when she arrived.  Here she is all smiles 

I sat next to my sister and we enjoyed first of all a cream tea together

as you can see in the picture below.  The bride to be looked wonderful and enjoyed trialling a veil for the day. 

My niece came as well

and my Mum, doesn't she look amazing, her hair looks fantastic and it looks just like her original style if I'm honest, which is why I didn't clock she had it on a bargain buy from Amazon at the great price of £20. 

We also had a lovely long weekend with it being a bank holiday again and added a day onto it. 

Which meant as well as working on the stairs (yes, we are still working on the stairs) we received 3 tonnes of wood to move.

The rest of the week has been the usual work blur, but it has been good overall, I managed to weed the front and back garden and put in some summer bedding plants, which I hope will be a good addition moving into the warmer months.
