LAZY SUNDAY AFTERNOON

Well I'm still working through my blog folder, on a positive I've started scrapping again, which means the blog folder is re-filling which is a positive and I'm using up scraps which I've found quite fun, my issue is that I insist on trying to use every single morsel!

So first up a layout I did an absolute age ago, although I enjoyed playing with the purple papers.

Then this one from Hartlepool's Historical dock

Which is where I also took this one Mischief 1 and Mischief 2!

And then said 15 year old and niece messing about on the beach!

Working my way through my photo folder in order that I can get another order together - more scrapbooking yay! 

ANOTHER POST AND GOOD MORNING TONI

It would appear that Toni is the only one to note my return to blog land so thought I would say a big hello to her personally - hope you've had a good week!

So what items can I find within that blog folder this morning?

So I've got a mix of layouts, some of these are from the Great Scheme of Things blog that I prepared earlier in the year.

I was really doubtful when making this page, I cut and cut and cut a bit more and ended up with some slivers of paper - destined for the scrap bin, I decided to add a few more to the equation and before I knew it this layout was sorted and I was really pleased with the finished result.

Next up one of my favourite shots of said 14 year old - writing his name on a stone on Flamborough beach - now look at the size of the stone - hence the giggle factor!

Next up a layout that was kicking around for ages before I finally added paper, elements, stitching and journalling, photo taken when we went to the panto last year, it had been a 'scary' drive to the panto and we were glad to get there and back safely!

Another one of my favourites, I think this is because I love these papers and the colour mix, peach and grey!  The water shot was taken on Flamborough beach.

So there we have it a few more from the blog folder (and still no crafting - I think I work too many hours at the moment).  Hey ho - here is hoping I manage some later!

JUST SCRAPPING

Good morning, well I thought I'd put a quick post together before I dash out of the house to the various work places I'm at today!

A few layouts that I've done over recent weeks first up this is the only way that said 14 year old would consider eating the slimming world brownies I made - with the addition of sprinkled sugar - I kid you not!

Then a layout documenting a wonderful scene we came across on our way back from Eyam early in the year (hence the snow on the hill tops in the distance).

And finally a layout of me and my sister enjoying a crab sandwich and chips at Flamborough Head, despite it being February and that we were at the top of the cliff, we still insisted on sitting out to enjoy the sea air - the photo reminds me of how utterly precious family time is!

DOESN'T TIME FLY

Recently I've been spending a lot of time inside my head, it's a bit like a spring clean in the house but this one is for the mind.  I've been moving furniture around, trying out a new colour scheme and generally trying to get ready for summer.  Now the blue skies, longer days and warmer temperatures are starting to have an impact, it's as though my brain is coming out of hibernation and contemplating the changes that I need to make in order to move forward.

Tomorrow is my last day at my current job (well one out of two anyway) and next Monday signals a start of a new job adventure and with this change I'm embracing other changes that I want to make - note the word want rather than need.

So I've been neglecting my blog, I'm still creating - possibly not as ferociously as I did last month but that's a positive in itself as I felt somewhat manic in my approach to most things - which if I'm honest is never good!

So I'm going to share some summery layouts I did recently for The Great Scheme of Things blog - a colour challenge blog for any kind of crafting if you haven't discovered it yet then click here to take a look, the challenge goes live every Saturday and is a great start for any crafting, whether it's putting a kit together from your own goodies, knitting, sewing, crochet, art journal, altered art, card making, whatever takes your fancy!

First up photo of niece and said 14 year old with my Mum on New Year's Eve this was only a couple of days after my Mum had had a major op after being diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time.

Then my sister's crazy cat - AKA ginger monster, he has other names but is so mischievous this is what he's often referred to as!

I loved this colour scheme and would never in a million years have pulled these papers together as a kit - just shows you how fab a challenge blog is doesn't it!

So anyone else having a mental clear out - or is it just me?

ROCKING YOUR WORLD FRIDAY - WEEK 9 OF 2015

Morning all Friday - list your grateful moments people

Well after four walling it last week, we pulled out all the stops on Friday and toddled off to the coast to have some fresh air.  Here is my favourite bit of coastline, discovered last year - Flamborough Head! 

It is a tiny beach but lovely, we set off late but didn't care it was about having a jaunt out and enjoying the surroundings.  These two thoroughly enjoyed 'skimming' stones - I call it 'skimming' in quotes because if you'd seen the size and shapes of a lot of them the one thing you wouldn't be able to do was skim them - they had fun nonetheless.

Now when you need to write your name on a giant rock - apparently you need a giant piece of chalk! This will be appearing on a scrapbook layout shortly for obvious reasons!

Hubby got this one really low down to the ground - what a fab view!

We then headed into Bridlington and got a fab sunset

And then got to see some of the other less favourable items in the vicinity! All sorts of wrong!

Slot machines - it's the I won bit that had us rolling, they won then they fed it back into the machine!

Saturday saw a jaunt to Eyam - despite only being an hour away I've never actually been.  Unfortunately, we picked a really really cold day, which means we will probably have to return to appreciate it fully in the summer, however, we did manage to go to Eyam Hall run by the National Trust.

First sign of spring (although it was just after a snow shower so not sure how necessary snowdrops really were).

We saw lots of things inside the house - this one tickled me most!

We even had a stroll around the garden - family selfie!

Afterwards we ventured around the few craft shops and stopped at the coffee shop for a cuppa.  Mischief 1 and 2 were on top form as always!

Then the journey back - we were racing the weather - literally - the views over the Derbyshire and Yorkshire landscape was beautiful!

We even got to see left overs from the Tour De Yorkshire last year

Saturday night saw another ice hockey match, which we unfortunately lost (boo hiss) but then managed a win on the return leg in Nottingham this week and got through to the final - phew! Although unfortunately, we didn't get to see the second leg of the match!

Other positives include a fabulous parents evening on thursday night, chatting away to the teachers - said 14 year old verged on having a fan club!  Most funny!

Prompt delivery of some photos I'd ordered early in the week.

Work being understanding when I was poorly, I had to have a couple of days off when the lurgy struck, but I'm on the mend now.
