WEAR CRAFTS - 12 PLEDGES - DECEMBER KIT - HAPPINESS

Good morning, I hope I find you well, it's time to share the layouts that I've made with the gorgeous kit from Jen at Wear Crafts - now it has been so popular that Jen has run out of kits, but check out her website anyway as she always has some fabulous papers and always has some great kits available!

Fancy some more inspiration then check out fellow DT Lesley's blog posts

or our leader herself - Jen's blog

and the cost of the kit - £5 - yes that's right!

So first up is a layout of my niece, my sister and me at Chatsworth last year when the house was decorated with the theme of Narnia.  Here we are stood next to the lamp post.  I kept the layout simple if I'm honest, the papers are beautiful, the cut off strips from the bottom of each page created most of the strips, a bit of cream cardstock I had lurking and a few gems that were lying around on my desk and the gorgeous wooden embellishments were enough to create the layout!

Next up my sister having tea with Mr Tumnus - giddy doesn't cover it!  Again you can see the simplicity of the layout but the papers are so beautiful.  Simple block cuts, a splash of red and a little wooden title and it was done!

WEAR CRAFTS 12 PLEDGES - NOVEMBER 2014

Good morning one and all - and we are here to look at the layouts created with the gorgeous papers available in the 12 Pledges Wear Crafts kit this month.

First up a photo taken on a day trip to a Japanese Garden, part of a birthday treat for my sister.  I loved the gorgeous flowers on this paper and thought they set off the pagoda photo beautifully.  A frame around the paper, some of the lined paper for journalling, matted the photo and used some of the letter stickers for the title.

Next up what we thought was the 'oak' at Boscobel House (but turned out to be a younger relative - whoops).

I liked playing with these papers, the subtle stripes and fabulous quotes really made this layout.  I used a grungy stamp with some distress inks to tie the layout in and my trusty heart stamp.

So you'll be asking where to get this kit from - well head over to Jen's Wear Craft website.  Pop back tomorrow and I'll share a couple more layouts that I managed out of the kit!

WEAR CRAFTS 12 PLEDGES KIT

Morning all another layout from the kit that I've put together this month, this one documenting a water feature that we came across on our travels this summer.  I broke the busy frames papers up with blocks of colours from the other parts of the kit.  I like how the photo pops from the background!

WEAR CRAFTS 12 PLEDGES SEPTEMBER 2014 AND SO THE STORY BEGINS AND JUST LOVELY

Good morning well I'm here to share the last two layouts out of the six I created with the wear crafts 12 pledges September kit.  This first one uses the ripped square out of a layout I share yesterday and if I'm honest I didn't actually think I'd be able to use it, there was actually a tear in the paper at the bottom right hand side, but a carefully placed title card and you'd never have known if I'd not told you.

A few squares of paper with rounded corners a sprinkling of stars and a sheet of card stock from my stash and we have the layout.  I finished it off with a ring of stitches around the inside of the circle and had such fun.  The photo is the day me and hubby arrived to enjoy the Granary at Aldborough for a few days when said 13 year old was away!  A view like that and a glass of wine - it's the simple things in life that I love.

And the last layout - using the circle cut out of the paper above and placing left over strips of paper behind, splitting one of the PL style cards from the back of the pages and rounding the corners, to offset the picture.  I mounted the photo on white cardstock, added some stars and some stitching!

The photo shows the reflection of Hardwick Hall in a gorgeous ball on the water.

WC - 12 PLEDGES SEPTEMBER 2014 - THIS TOTALLY HAPPENED & 158 SQUADRON

Hello lovely people I'm sharing layouts 3 and 4 that I made from the gorgeous September 12 Pledges kit from Wear Crafts this morning.  The first one started with a really easy base - literally tearing out the centre square then adding some strips of paper and some of the off cuts from the base strips.

Add to that a project life style card from the reverse from one of the sheets, some letter stickers on the card.  Then stitching a bit around the photo and the card and it was done.

Now this piece of wood was set up for a 'perspective' view at Hardwick Hall, the downside the 13 year old who found it highly amusing to photo-bomb the photo!  He did have us in hysterics!

Next up another polka dotty layout.  I cut three identically sized pieces of paper and cardstock, laid the photo onto the strips, punched out hearts and stars and attached.

Then time to add some of the lovely chipboard style pieces onto the layout, a little bit of hand stitching and it was sorted.  The photo shows hubby next to the 158 Squadron Memorial that we came across at the side of a road when we were out for a day trip!

WEAR CRAFTS 12 PLEDGES SEPTEMBER 2014 - HELLO BEAUTIFUL

Well my second layout from the kit is most definitely one of my favourites from the year.  I loved the polka dots in the papers and cut a wave of the arrow papers for the left hand side.

I cut contrasting elements to go on top and some hearts on foam pads to make it pop.  A strip of the tartan paper and a project life style piece from the back of one of the sheets.

I added some hand stitching to get the photo and the wavy bit to stand out and I did some cross stitch too.

A favourite photo of hubby from the summer and the layout was complete!

So you'll be asking where to get this kit from - well head over to Jen's Wear Craft website and see what's she's got available - be warned these kits sell fast!

12 PLEDGES AUGUST - WEAR CRAFTS - LAYOUT 3

Hello lovely people well this is the third layout I achieved from the Wear Crafts 12 Pledges kit, these papers are gorgeous, I love love love the colour combinations, I changed the tempo of this one slightly, opting for the subtle browns that are part of this fantastic double sided paper kit!

The photo is hubby scaling up some chalky rocks to put our stone that we'd put our initials on safe and sound.  He didn't realise how far he'd gone until he saw the photo afterwards.

I border punched the outside and whilst the corners aren't perfect I like how quirky they look!

Stamped some white cardstock as a base.  Added the Sunshine element to the page after hand stitching it.  A bit of washi tape I had lying around and a couple of shiny brads.  The journal square is actually a negative leftover element from a sticker sheet I got from Jen at Wear Crafts.

Up close an additional sticker, hand scribbled around and the brads and edging that I mentioned

WEAR CRAFTS 12 PLEDGES - AUGUST - LAYOUT NUMBER 2

Morning all well layout number two from me for the 12 Pledges kit for August from Jen at Wear Crafts.

Ink sprayed and stamped background to get me started, a cut blue border (gutted from layout one that I shared with you yesterday).  Adding components parts from the kit, punched tag and a piece of sea wave paper mounted on foam dots.

I attached the twine with a little bit of glossy accents and all was complete - fab stuff and good fun!

SUCCESS 12 PLEDGES KIT FROM WEAR CRAFTS

Morning all, well this is the fifth and final layout that I've got to share from the amazingly beautiful 12 Pledges Kit from Wear Crafts this month.  At the cost of £6.90 I got my hands on the kit at £5.00 and added two extra glittery papers at a cost of 95p each!  So for under £7 I got myself 5 layouts - now I personally think that's a bargain!

This was actually my favourite layout that I created because I had so much fun doing it, I started out by using the other chevron cut element at the bottom of the page and then to make it pop, I added some handstitching around the elements.

Next up was to add the photo on the layout and then added some lettering for a title and a bit of hand journalling.  Then I stamped some hearts, 'solid' black ones and 'outline' ones before adding a few blue punched hearts.  Then I got some glossy accents and 'filled' the empty hearts with gloss accents and then sat and added the confetti elements inside the outline, I had loads of fun doing this and think it looks effective.  The photo documents me and hubby enjoying the new Richard III experience in York as part of the York walls walk that we did.

A close look at some of the elements used.

And here is one of those hearts filled in!

SUCCESS - 12 PLEDGES KIT FROM WEAR CRAFTS FOR JULY

Morning all well my next layouts from the gorgeous 12 Pledges kit from Wear Crafts for July, at a cost of £5 for the kit and 95p for each of the two sheets of glittery paper I was able to create 5 layouts, I've shared two already so for your next installment.

The glittery papers really are beautiful and with a simple frame border, a few embellishments and a matted photo this page was soon complete.  Documenting a beautiful gift from an amazing lady - you know who you are!

Then a change in tempo on the next, a lot more masculine, I gutted the centre of the paper to use elsewhere, used half the doily element that came with the kit and decided to highlight some of the words to create the title of the layout.  How, you may ask?  By handstitching around some letters with the ample (more than ample) stock of embroidery thread from my cross stitch days.  This layout documents a giant draughts game played by hubby and said 13 year old when we visited the Wold's Lavender place earlier in the year!

And just to show you how effective this can be - an up close shot of the title!

So want to get your hand on this kit then head over to Jen's wonderful online shop!

Want to see more, well I'll be sharing the last layout on Wednesday morning so pop back then!

12 PLEDGES JULY 2014 - SUCCESS - WEAR CRAFTS KIT

I loved loved loved the kit for July, so modern and beautiful colours with a zing of glitter little did I know that it would take me out of my comfort zone, but in a good way.  I still can't believe the value for money on these kits, for £5 you get a great selection of papers and a selection of embellishments and away you go!

So here is the kit - take a look - yes I did say £5, now you might say well I can only get a layout out of that - come on people you are joking right?  Add in two extra sheets of the gorgeous glitter papers (because they are gorgeous) at a cost of 95p per sheet and for under £7 I created, not one, not two, not three or even four, but five I repeat 5 layouts - with enough remnants to probably rustle up a couple of cards!

So without further ado layouts one and two on the list, first up me and said 13 year old at the bluebell woods earlier in the year, the papers are so vibrant and positive and the glitter really adds another dimension to the layouts!  I enjoyed cutting with the zig-zags to add a shaped element at the bottom of the page!

Then a simpler layout (the versatility of a double sided paper!).  In the kit you get the confetti elements which I scattered across the page and then adhered with glossy accents. I distressed the paper elements on the page and then went for a long thin photo to contrast.  The photo is the afternoon me and said 13 year old played with sewing machine and needle felter to create cushions!  Such fun!

Close up to show the confetti and the distressed papers.  Want to see more then you can check out Lesley's post yesterday and she'll be posting again tomorrow, this is her blog link http://ohblogitifyoucantbeatthem.blogspot.co.uk/ check out my Monday post for more layouts!  If you want a different take on the layouts, then Jen always does a stunning job too http://scrappyjens.blogspot.co.uk/

WEAR CRAFTS 12 PLEDGES - LAST LAYOUT

Oh I did have fun with this kit from Jen at Wear Crafts, for five pounds I've created not one or two, or even three or four but actually five layouts.  £1 a layout?  What are you waiting for - link here

I really enjoyed making this layouts, you forget sometimes how fun pin wheels can be on a layout and with these gorgeous double sided papers, and a pin wheel element on the page - what could be better.  Add a bright photo of said 13 year old and a paint gun and you've got yourself a lovely summery layout!

Up close you can see the pin wheels have been edged with a bit of ink and a brad popped through.  Simple but effective!

Fancy seeing a different interpretation of the kit - well this is Jen's link here and this is a link to fellow DT member Lesley for further inspiration.

12 PLEDGES POST - JUNE 2014

Morning all, well time for another couple of layouts from the 12 pledges Enthusiasm kit from Wear Crafts - for £5 you get some gorgeous papers and add on elements to create layouts - what more could you ask for.  As suspected they fly out of the doors so don't be too long considering before you head over to visit Jen at Wear Crafts to get yours ordered. Here is the link to the kit page

This layout documents a walk we recently did along 5 Weirs.  The walk way under the bridge has some giant metal spiders on it which I hadn't seen before. I used some of the fabulous wordy elements from the papers to create this layout.  Each of the rectangles measures 3.75" x 2.75" thus meaning I can get them onto the 12 x 12 with a little edge around them!

Up close you can see, die cut circles, raised words on foam pads and the odd dot of glossy accents.

Then this layout, very simple but I like it, again from that walk (I can't believe how many layouts I've created from just one walk).  I added some inky splats behind, some stamped stars and then cut elements out to make the page pop.

If you want to see more layouts then check out Lesley's post from yesterday here she'll also be sharing more tomorrow so don't forget to check back to her blog.  Then Jen's blog post here with lots of lovely fussy cut elements - simply gorgeous.

WEAR CRAFTS - 12 PLEDGES FOR MAY - OPTIMISM

Morning all well over the last couple of days myself and Lesley have been sharing layouts created using the beautiful Wear Crafts 12 Pledges Kit.  If you want to see what Lesley created then check out yesterdays post on her blog which is here

My turn today for a couple more layouts.  I loved the scallop paper that came with the kit (and you have to remember that these papers are double sided as well!).  So I cut along one of the scallop lines to create the bottom border and the top border.

Three of the fab project life like elements off one of the sheets, the photo and a wooden embellishment and it was done.

The photo was from when we visited Chatsworth earlier in the year and I fancied an 'arty' photo of our reflections in the water.

Up close you can see the slightly distressed edges and the pale minty coloured ink I used.

Now one of the layouts I shared with you on Friday included a scalloped circle, when I cut these circles out I was keen to ensure I spread these cut outs evenly so I could use the strips on another layout.  I loved the graduated coloured papers, I put the strip at the top of the page pink to mint green and then below from mint green to pink.

I then punched out some hearts from one of the other sheets, mounted these on foam pads and the base of the page was done.  I cut the photo to 'fit' and then used one of the project life like cards as the title. The photo was when we went exploring Wentworth Castle with my sister and niece over the Easter break, a fun fab day was had by all!

Up close you can see one of the hearts.

Now the question is how to get your hands on a kit?  Well head over to the Wear Crafts website here  retailing at £5 for the kit and with add on kits available you really don't want to miss out!

WEAR CRAFTS 12 PLEDGES KIT FOR MAY 2014 - OPTIMISM

Good evening all and it's my turn to kick off the layouts using the absolutely gorgeous Optimism Pledge kit from Jen at Wear Crafts, I had sooooooooooooooo much fun with this kit - I mean - so much fun!  It is a veritable feast of pastels, which are not my normal choice in papers and do you know what it was lovely to work out of the norm - I managed 7 layouts in total from the kit with a couple of sheets of white cardstock added.

This page is where I started - I know I know, not much of the paper in this layout, but it's sooooo lush I wanted to squeeze every ounce of of this kit!  I cut some scalloped circles and then folded them in, this was easier said than done but I was impressed with the finish.  I used a pale pink stamp on the background and a mask and then set to work.

The Carpe Diem sentiment came off the bottom strip of the paper - you know the one that you normally cut off! A bit of hand journalling at it was done.  The photo from a recent walk we did, blue skies and nattering with family - nothing finer!

Up close you can see the folded scallops - they do look pretty don't they!

I'll also share with you my next layout, now I have to admit to being very influenced this month by quilting patterns, I love the overall effect you get when using fabrics and I thought why not on paper too.  This one I've cut 2" squares, scored the backing cardstock with a 1/2" dry embossing line and then distressed each of the squares.  The photo documents a rather wet day at Chatsworth checking out some eclectic sculptures that were on display!

I also cut the Carpe Diem sentiment from one of the sheets, mounted it up on foam pads.  Added the wooden cloud (just to remind us how wet the day was).  I then punched two hearts out, stuck them together with foam pads and tied a little bit of organza ribbon around it.  I used one of the squares for a journalling block.

If you want to get your hands on one of these beautiful kits (and I suggest you act quickly because they have sold out like hot cakes this year - not surprising given the gorgeous papers and the fact that the kits retail at £5) then click here to head over to the Wear Crafts website.  Jen also normally does a couple of add on kits for those that want more (and why would you not want more of this).

So head over to the Wear Crafts website and grab yourself a bargain, you won't be disappointed.

Want to see the versatility of the kit, then head over to Lesley's blog tomorrow to see what she's been creating with the same kit.  I'll be sharing more on Sunday!
