Morning all, well the week is gambling along at a decent pace and I find myself on Wednesday already (yay!), today in work and then off the rest of it so more time for me and said 13 year old.
First layout is another one from the UK Scrappers summer challenge and documents our first visit to Hardwick New Hall, a fabulous Elizabethan house with an amazing interior. The house is where Bess of Hardwick lived for many years and she certainly put her thumbprint on it.
The next layout documents the view from Hardwick Old Hall, which is a ruin to Hardwick New Hall, strangely enough despite one being a ruin and the other being in tact they were still in use around the same time for many years.
I've enjoyed playing with the bright coral papers this month, I like a kit with a strong colour theme!
Morning all - well time to share some more counterfeit layouts, this one was also a challenge on UK Scrappers, which included using three different stamps on the layout. I actually liked the effect I got with the stamps, so might use this again, I'm used to making them a background stamp in a grungey kind of way, but not a feature as it were!

Then a layout showing two seals we saw over two separate days when we were visiting the East Coast, the first one was near Spurn Point, the second near Flamborough Head beach. I also got to use some transparencies I've had in this set for an age, as well as a couple of pre made project life style cards and some more stamping.
Morning all, don't Monday mornings arrive really quickly! Not sure what that's all about. Well it's blue skies here in Yorkshire at the moment, but still breezy after the wet weather yesterday. I'm off to work shortly, but before I go I thought I'd share a couple more counterfeit kit layouts
First up was challenge number 1 over on UK Scrappers summer challenge; this one was to use a sketch they provided. The sketch worked really well with smaller photos. As there was soooooooooo much greenery in these layouts I was more than happy to trim them to make the owl more of a focal point and it worked really well with the sketch.
The photo documents me and hubby spotting a barn owl in the early evening when we were away at Aldborough recently!
I decided to print on the layout, cut the paper to A4 width, printed onto the page using a text box and then reassembled the paper with a different colour to the right - win win. I got the peg hearts recently when buying some old scrapbook supplies from a friend who was thinning down her stash, I always find pegs too dimensional, so I dismantled the spring and took the back part of the peg off before I stuck it down.
Next up me and hubby's selfie on Flamborough Head beach. We had such a wonderful day there. Again I printed directly onto the paper then reassembled the layout, this was the second challenge on UK Scrappers and I'm loving how I'm managing to combine both my counterfeit kit and my UK Scrappers challenge kit in one go!
Good morning, well I've finally got some of the layouts I've created with the kit photographed so now it's time to start to share them.
First up a layout using a wide 12 inch wide panoramic photo - taken at Temple Newsam which is an Elizabethan House. I picked out some strong colours in the layout, but overall kept it simple, a couple of giant punched hearts and the title is using one of Mary Anne's many free project life style cards which she has on her blog - check them out here
Then a photo of hubby and his obsession with baking - in this instance fresh mango and curry naan bread - it was the first time he'd used fresh mango - not to be repeated because he wasn't happy with how 'wet' it was - but the naan bread was lovely none the less!
Again simple layout, border punch and stamps was all this page needed with it's fussy paper! No title or journalling needed as I'd included that on the photos before I had them printed using a free app!
Good morning, tis Friday, means only one thing in this house - let's count those happies!
So first up are these two nutcases - my Mum and my sister - who descended on the house on Saturday for some crafting fun, expecting to make cards I wasn't enthused (I'm no card maker), but my Mum asked to do a layout and before we knew it we were scraplifting a layout and having such fun - first layouts my sister has ever done and she liked them!
Next up lunch at work these days consists of fruit lots and lots and lots of fruit - and it's totally nom!
Talking of fruit - the fruit bowl became fruits bowls followed by fruit side this week! I'm always amazed at all the colours and flavours!
Then the news I've joined slimming world, after years of being part of another weight loss group I decided I needed a change of direction, with so many friends doing so well on this plan I thought why not. It has up to now been fantastic and we are eating the best meals. This one was chicken and a Caribbean fruity slaw - absolutely divine
Up close you can see the pineapple, mango and red peppers in the dish - it was so fresh and tasty!
A day trip with my sister at the weekend, we'd promised to take her to a Japanese Garden for her birthday, we finally got to go at the weekend, there was something ultimately restful about this place. We wandered around enjoying the atmosphere and the beautiful garden and then we enjoyed a cup of fruit tea and soaked up the sunshine!
Apparently this place is open during the evenings during August and September
So many places to stop and rest.

As part of this visit we got to visit the Crystal Garden, literally a room full of crystals - the energy was quite honestly amazing.
Other highlights include my first weeks weigh in at slimming world a 9lb weight loss - I was utterly gobsmacked, such a long way to go but it's a good start a really good start!
A day off on Thursday, getting lots of jobs done around the house, spending time with said 13 year old.
Scrapbooking, the little flurry of activity on Saturday was the catalyst needed to get my mojo running again.
The WW girls - they know who they are a constant support!

Good morning, well the scrapping has recommenced but crikey it's a bit slow if I'm honest (and a bit sporadic) I'm going to blame the long work days and the busy evenings. I did get some done on Saturday - thankfully my Mum came over with my sister and said she wanted to do a layout, so rather than messing around with cards I don't really like; we suddenly start scrapping - it was fabulous and really got me motivated this month (I managed 9 layouts in a day, sadly none since and it's Wednesday now - boo hiss).
Anyway the blog folder is almost (almost) empty but I've still a few things to share, first up a layout with paint on - not something I normally do as I can't cope with papers that scrunch up if I'm honest. Photo documenting our love of exploring castles in the holidays - they always make for a fun day out!
And this was an art installation at Yorkshire Sculpture Park, you could 'climb on' it - these pieces of art apparently worked but I wouldn't imagine very well - it made me think the artist loved JCB like diggers when he was younger and decided to have a go himself!

Good Morning lovely people, well July came and went and not a counterfeit kit in sight. But the 1st August dawned and I was ready and waiting - how I've missed making this kit up! So without further ado this is what I put together, first up paper and cardstock. I loved the pop of black and the coral colour too, it's not one that I'm naturally attracted to and I certainly wouldn't have put it together with neutrals and yellows like the kit - but I love how it works! the joys of counterfeit inspiration let's be honest!
Then some embellishments to use up!
There are some left overs from the Wear Crafts kits I've had over recent months (such as the doily)
Then some little cards I've made up with left overs - some of which need stitching!
I love the pegs with hearts on but they are so dimensional to try and use on a layout which will eventually end up in an album and I never know what glue to adhere transparencies down with so you can't see the glue!
I've made a start on the kit already and it's good to see the papers going down (although there is a strong likelihood it will need 'topping up' at some point soon!
