Our day trip to Harry Potter World was by far my favourite day last year (and probably of the last few years), 10 hours spent wandering through the amazing sets, props, designs, costumes etc. Simply magical!
And I'm documenting the day - trying to fight my way through 700 photos (I kid you not), I am now growing increasingly selective as I can see a mini (insert the word maxi) book destined to be created as I've soooooooooooo many photos left over!

I finally also managed to put together a Counterfeit Kit (http://counterfeitkitchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/) - having had many months away from the blog, I've been tempted occasionally but never quite got around to managing it, so this month I actually got around to putting my kit together, unfortunately I forgot to photograph the original kit, but I have managed a good few layouts from it this month already!
Good morning, how are you doing, are you having a good weekend, another HP layout, this one of the Crystal Goblet, the book made out that it was a Goblet, but I love that the props team made it into a cross between a shell and a natural quartz crystal - fabulous!
Morning all, more layouts this morning, first up the triwizard cup at Harry Potter world, an absolutely gorgeous prop to admire when we were there!
Now this is definitely a sketch I saw - but can I find the link - nope not for the life of me, if any of you know the sketch and can point me in the right direct let me know I do like to acknowledge when a sketch has provided a much needed boost as it were!
Next up outfits from the Yule Ball, Hermione's dress really is very very tiny, however Emma Watson was only around 14 at the time that she wore it, Ron's outfit however, left an awful lot to be desired - bless!
Good morning lovely people, tis time to take a step back and appreciate the little silver linings that occurred through life in the last 7 days as it is time for
So last Friday I had a simply lovely day, chilling out and scrapbooking with a relatively tidy house, I had the fun time of working my way through a pile of pretty papers and just spending some quality time at home crafting, I re-watched the most recent series of NCIS from the TIVO box and I had a lovely day crafting at my table.
The weekend was glorious wasn't it - unfortunately I didn't get chance to see very much of it if I'm honest, so why you may ask, well me and my Mum had booked for a craft weekend at our local craft shop, we were there both days from 9.30 until 4ish and had a lovely time.

We made lots of beautiful items, very much not in my style (if I'm honest) but I do like them nonetheless.

And we also made some cards, again very much not in my style but I enjoyed nonethless! The photos are the original but mine are just the same!
The amount of work the team had gone to was amazing!

When I got home on the Saturday evening, hubby had set up outside, including a barbecue, unfortunately the rain came in the evening and we had to finish the cooking off inside, but the thought was there and hubby had been mighty busy preparing the food.
He also made a large quantity of biscotti which have been very tasty but very naughty and not at all friendly to the waistline!
On the second day we made a recipe box
Thankfully I wasn't subjected to colouring in (really not my forte) although a few of the ladies were disappointed.
The classes were taken by Clare Rowlands and Julie and Karen who work at the craft shop.
The weekend literally went in the blink of an eye but we had a lot of fun.
I briefly managed to catch up with my sister on the Saturday evening and my niece which is always lovely.
Hubby and said 15 year old managed to grab a game at Lock N Load on the Sunday and said 15 year old went to a birthday party on the Saturday!
The week has flown by, we've managed early morning walks but work has been hectic and I'm feeling a little tired tonight.
I have another busy week next week, including a meeting about more consultancy and another consultancy day so I'm going to make the most of my day off tomorrow.
The weekend already has plans formulating so I'm going to make the most of crafting if I can.

Good morning, well I'm back - layouts galore to share with you, this one taken at Harry Potter world (you've been warned there are going to be a lot from this day - we took over 700 photos - I kid you not).
And the Gryffindor boys bedroom, complete with the tiny beds designed for 11 year old boys without much consideration that they would grow significantly between the first and last films!

Good morning tis Friday and that means only one thing in this house
First up is a trip with said 15 year old to Yorkshire Sculpture Park, he'd not had chance to see the Kaws exhibition and we all fancied a good walk, plus the bridge over the bottom end of the lake was re-opened which meant a circular walk - so we headed out.
Unfortunately the weather was being a little naughty - we got caught in a hail shower, had it been rain we would have got drenched!
The bluebells were out in the wooden area above the lake, a beautiful sight!
Although quite difficult to photograph up close in a hail shower apparently! I love seeing the bluebells out at this time of the year, with them being a protected they have had time to flourish and grow and whole areas are now covered in this tiny bell flower - although they look more purple than blue to me!
Then Mischief 1 and Mischief 2 checking out the circular sculpture, it has no entry and is quite difficult to see in as you can tell!
We walked past a field with highland cattle, they always look so cuddly - despite their size!
Up at the long gallery we managed a better photo of one of the Bendy sculptures, said 15 year old is planning an art textile piece based on the work of Travis Bedel - which is all cut anatomical images, so seeing brightly coloured internal organs has made him have a rethink about his design!
And just to show the varying sizes in these sculptures this is the two of them next to the bronze sculpture
I liked this shot of the back of the pink rabbit sculpture and the one that reminds me of a certain tyre advert!
Outside the hail clouds had disappeared to leave a beautiful blue sky and these amazing sculptures, this type of sculpture appears to be fairing better
than the black lacquered ones that seem to have been affected by the prolonged variations in our weather!
This one is simply magical, it looks from the back like a little wooden boy that tells lies, it's only when stood in front that the trademark Kaws design is more apparent!
But the reason why I love this one soooooooooooooooooo much is the size of it - simply breathtaking and can be seen from the long gallery up on the hillside - stunning!
Inside the visitors centre there was another exhibit for another artist, almost 50 years apart in the work of Kaws, but still influenced by similar cultures - bright colours, cartoon like elements, well known faces!
I managed to send off the photo of my Shakespeare piece for this month, only to discover we'd been given a month off and I was a month early - hey ho! This one is my favourite up to now and represents The Tempest.
I've still no idea what to do with them once completed, the original intention was a fabric book but I'm not so sure that is going to actually work at this moment in time. If you have any ideas let me know!
Sunday found us back at Chatsworth, this time for a wander around the house, as Chatsworth members we get to frequent the house whenever we fancy and unlike a lot of other country houses Chatsworth allows you to take photos inside the house itself.
We found the resin seat still inside the chapel!
And got a photo of the Damien Hirst piece - Saint Bartholomew - Exquisite Pain This particular version (apparently there are 3), is silver with a gold plate over the top and really does make you stop and think. It is currently housed inside the chapel

We even found a new room open that isn't normally - you imagine the other rooms to be quite plain, so when they open up a room and you get to see this - you wonder what other amazing rooms there are around the house!

Other positives this week, meeting up with my Mum, my niece and her friend last Friday for a wander around the local shopping centre, not very exciting but lovely to spend some quality time with them!
Monday found said 15 year old visiting a friends house, so we had a lovely afternoon just the two of us, popped to see my Mum and caught up with my sister at the same time which was great.
The rest of the week has been filled with early morning walks with views like this mornings one
and lots of work, although getting things sorted posted year end is always heavy going!
