WOYWW

Good morning all, time for a nosey on the desk as it were, shocking light levels this morning.

So this is my desk this morning, an empty can of diet ginger beer, a stack of papers in line with the latest CSI colour scheme, a few distress inks, a pile of 3.75" x 2.75" embellishments for a few more Lesotho layouts that I'm working on, using some papers and embellishment sent by the lovely Annette (aka Voodoo Vixen).

Glue, a money box, my Harry Potter time turner (unfortunately not in working order).

The beginnings of a new book hubby put together for me the other day! A giant pot of white acrylic and another box set made after a craft class a couple of weeks ago.

Close up of the new box set

Which opens up like this

And looks like this

The conundrum is what to put inside the boxes, they are approximately 6" x 4" for the bigger one and 4" x 3" for the two smaller ones, someone mentioned chocolates but that doesn't really float my boat, I was thinking of mini books but have done nothing about that yet.

What would you put inside them?

Have a great WOYWW

Off to link up with the lovely Julie at

  1. Hi Virginia - What an amazing set of boxes. They are beautiful - I have absolutely no idea what I would put into them, as I have never seen anything like them before. Well done.

  3. Hi Virginia, you could put stationery in the boxes or do personalised ones for a specific person. Like you could theme them e.g. the 'get well box' with some pocket tissues, lemsips, Vitamin C etc. The pet lovers box - treats, poop bags, doggy notes etc. I am not sure if this is any use as an idea! 4. I'd go with the idea of mini books to go inside the boxes. Mini books are always nice to keep to hand to look through. Happy woyww Jill #10

  5. How lovely, hard to say what to put into them, if they are a gift you could fill them with hand made cards

  10. Hands covered in paint and ink... I know that look and love it!
Your boxes are wonderful!! hummm, what to put inside? I love boxes as much full as empty. I love the idea of mini books!! I might put things inside that I find beautiful on my ordinary days..maybe book tags, lovely shaped rocks I find that pull my heart strings, old photographs, pieces of fabric from something I loved and now have to discard but want to keep a memory, cherished postcards, or even business cards from friends I love. So many uses for boxes... why I love them!!
    Happy Creating!

  11. The boxes are very cool -I like the idea of "treasure boxes", keep adding fun things to them and they can be like time capsules! If you have kids, one box for each of them? I have one child, so I would probably do one for her, one for us, and one for pets. Thanks for sharing! Lindart #67

  14. Those boxes are beautiful. Your suggestion the other day of the box for a newborn does not fit the decor of this particular box. How about as a retirement present. Photos of leaving do, objects of previous work. cards from collegues. etc.
Sorry I´m late. I had my new computer today and I have been fiddling about with that but now I have everything going. (I am typing this on my new keyboard). I still have to sort out the printer and some speakers, but the system works!
Have a great week and thanks for visiting me earlier.

  15. I am in lurrrrrve with that box set. It looks terrific. To be honest, I wouldn't care what had been put inside the boxes because I'd be happy just receiving the boxes themselves.

  16. The mini books idea is certainly an option.
How about some pretty decorated cards to note down memories - they would be great to use as journaling on LOs.
