MONDAY SIGH - WHAT CAN I SAY - PUBLISHED, TIRED AND WALK...

Life just seems so full on at the moment, really and truly blink and it's Friday blink again and it's Monday which means Christmas is hurtling towards me and I'm not at all prepared, added to that that I need to slow the season down to enjoy it and I'm unsure of how I'm going to manage that, thankfully my Journal Your Christmas is right around the corner, so hopefully that will allow me to take stock a little - we shall see!

So I'm sharing layouts at the rate of 2 to 3 a day - you may ask if this is a never ending pile - I shall answer - nope the end is in sight which is worrying as I always have some 'in stock' as it were.  Might have to head off to find me a challenge to get me going again on the scrapbook layout it isn't as if I don't have enough photos to scrap now is it!

So first up a layout of the one and only time I've ever been published, it was in the now defunct Scrapbook Magazine and was organised in its entirety by Jen at Wear Crafts (she is a star).  I obviously had to capture this moment in a scrapbook layout!

Next up the aftermath of a weekend retreat in the Peak District for said 15 year old, we did have to wonder whether he would cope with the 20 day expedition to Lesotho if this is what he was like after a weekend, but we needn't have worried he managed just fine!

And the two of them stood by a giant tree when we went to Bodnant Gardens, a fabulous day out and a stone's throw from where we were staying!

I hope Monday finds you positive and happy and that your day is kind to you and that the weekend arrives quickly!

SATURDAY MORNING - TURN UP THE MUSIC AND DANCE AND SET GOALS

Morning all, well Saturday greets us a little grey and overcast and most definitely windy here in Yorkshire, what plans have you got for today?

Us well a Christmas Craft Fayre and some Christmas trees may be in order, as well as pulling together supplies for my Journal Your Christmas - watch this space!

I have two more layouts to share, the first of my niece when we were away on holiday earlier in the summer.

Next up a photo taken at Harry Potter world from the Yule Ball - utterly beautiful

Hope you have a great weekend!

ROCKING YOUR WORLD FRIDAY - 48TH OF 2015

Well Friday greets us once more and it's that crazy day of the year where everyone heads out into those black friday sales, but this isn't about spending this is about positives and focusing on those because it's

So this week has been another busy one and has literally flown by in the blink of an eye.  I've been treated to some of the prettiest sunsets and moon rises this week, I captured this rather poor photo the other day (the photo doesn't do it justice) of the moon as I arrived home - utterly beautiful!

We headed out last weekend to a craft fayre (a very small craft fayre as it happened but good fun nonetheless).  On our walk up to the fayre I spotted this

I also grabbed this photo of others that were with me on the day, hubby, said 15 year old, Mum and sister

It rained whilst we were there and we'd decided to have a drink, my Mum found herself a perfect solution to the dilemma!

Sunday brought about the annual treat of creating the Christmas pudding as it was Stir it Up Sunday, here we all are having a stir and making that Christmas wish!

I also managed to make a start and complete the postable hugs, I bought the red heart cushions from a certain Swedish chain store for a £1 each as I wanted to alter them, I created a felt heart for the front, needle felting fibres and wool and other embellishments, machine stitching a smaller heart and adding the blanket stitching as a decorative stitch.  I've made 6 all together and am really pleased with the finished results.

The rest of the week has fair tripped by, we had a mini meltdown by said 15 year old about some course work, but with a bit of planning and emailing of teacher he managed to make some huge improvements and the impossible task is now much less daunting.

Hubby and I attended a meeting at the Docs as well that went OK and hubby's workplace are being helpful on the stress front, I'm hoping this continues.

I hope you've had a good week, if you fancy joining in then put a post together, pop back and link up leave a comment and I shall come and visit, it was lovely having a newbie join in last week - thank you Lisca, with our regulars Kate and Michelle joining in I managed to share 4 Rocking weeks - absolutely fantastic - you girls are awesome!

I hope you all have a truly beautiful and blessed weekend and week ahead.

FLY FREE AND BEST OF FRIENDS

Morning lovely people, another couple of layouts from me this morning, this one taken at the Button Tin in my home town, this is based in the original indoor market that has been converted into retail shops, unfortunately it doesn't get the footfall it truly deserves given how beautiful it is!

I had the chance to spend part of a day there with said 15 year old in the summer, learning how to make vintage flower brooches, we had a fabulous time there, it was like being in a time warp with the vintage music playing, hand sewing and surrounded by the most gorgeous items, Gemma who runs and owns the Button Tin was brilliant, giving us lots of help along the way and helping said 15 year old with his Art Textiles Work!

Next up those two on a walk recently, I think the title sums it up!  I really 'fought' with this layout, it really wasn't doing it for me, not sure why - perhaps the lack of a dark colour was frustrating me, I'm not sure, but I added the hearts and considered this one done, sometimes you just have to walk away from a layout!

Hope the week is treating you well!

LAUGH, DAY OUT AND BOOKS

Morning all, well the week is fair tripping along at the moment, which is good although lots to do.  A mix of three very different layouts this morning.  First up said 15 year old and niece checking out the stocks at Bamburgh Castle

A trip to Holy Island on our jaunt to Northumberland led to a stop off for a drink and a natter

And finally visiting Barter Books - a place you could lose yourself in every day with the amount of books there are to go at!

Hope you have a great Wednesday

TUESDAY - SHARE WHAT YOU HAVE, PARTY AND SMILE

Morning all, well I'm hoping my Tuesday is nicer to me than my Monday was, hope yours wasn't too tiresome!

So three more layouts to share, first up niece, sister and said 15 year old at my Mum's in late September for an evening tea party, we enjoyed an outdoor fire, the photo isn't great in that said 15 year old is moving, but I love the natural smile of my sister and the natural beauty of my niece, isn't she pretty!

Then the same three people at a family get together again back in September, I took loads of photos that night, most of which my sister and niece declared out loud that they didn't like, I'm hoping they are happy with this selection!

And finally this one that was taken in a fit of giggles because we were trying to work out how my front facing camera worked on my phone, it kept flipping the photos and was driving us mad, hence the slightly mad smile plastered on my face!

Hope you are having a grand week.

MONDAY - FULL OF LOVE, FROLIC AND LAUGH OUT LOUD

Morning lovely people, well Yorkshire greets us - freezing cold this morning and yet again I find it is Monday and am unsure of who stole the weekend!  Good weekend overall considering where we were this time last week.  Had a lovely day yesterday, little bit of a catch up with family, got some Christmas items at a fayre and managed to make the Christmas pudding on stir it up Sunday!

First up a layout I did from the Beyond Limits sculptures at Chatsworth this one reminded us of a Jaume Plensa due to the lettering on the item, also managed to squeeze in the photo of me and hubby on the steps at Chatsworth, we had a fabulous evening when we went exploring!

Next up my niece's 16th birthday - we went to Mablethorpe - she said she wanted to 'frolic' on the beach - hence the title - she has always loved the beach and being by the sea so it was a fabulous day out.  I loved this photo - taken by hubby from the promenade but there were quite a few 'obstacles' appearing in the same (people getting in the way that were completely unrelated to our party), thankfully with scrapbooking, you can use a few design elements to eliminate these out of the photos as it were to bring the eye back to the essential people on the photo!

And the last one shows a sequence of photos caught with these two messing about in the kitchen playing 'sword fighting' with a carrot stick and vegetable peeler, they (and I) were in hysterics, love these two to the moon and back.

So I hope Monday treats you well - have a great day!

SATURDAY - TRIWARD, FIRST DAY AND BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE

Morning all, well I'm sharing three more layouts that I made recently, first up photo of niece, said 15 year old, Mum and sister at the end of September

Next up a photo of the Tri-wizard cup from our venture to Harry Potter World

And finally first day at school, I've taken this same photo since he started school in the same place, hoping to do a merged photo next year on his last 'first day' to document the change in years - where does the time go!

Hope you are all having a grand day!

ROCKING YOUR WORLD FRIDAY - 47TH OF 2015

Good Morning lovely people - Friday means it's

Well the World news has been particularly hard and exceptionally sad this last week but I'm still trying to remain focused and positive.

First up - mass scrapping means lots of layouts.  As part of a UKScrappers team, if we exceed 39 layouts in a month then we have to 'prove' that we've done that many layouts, I have a feeling that I might manage that this month and so I set out the 26 layouts that I've done recently on the stairs as evidence and thought I'd share them with you!

Next up an Autumn Walk last weekend, we discovered this amazing pile of leaves, I loved the vibrant red.

I also grabbed a family selfie

And many photos of these two winding each other up - they make me smile!

The 'wintery' display at the local garden centre also raised a smile.  Although it might not seem so 'cute' if the snow they keep threatening arrives this weekend!

I also found a new local independent shop selling beer, now I'm currently teetotal but hubby does like a decent tipple every now and again, so I purchased a few for him to try!  I can see this being a new favourite shop for him to visit if I'm honest!

Last Sunday we had a very lazy morning with a serious lay in!

And I finally got around to spending the gift voucher Sarah sent me for my birthday - this is what I purchased with the voucher, I love love love the punch!   Expect to see it on layouts shortly!

And finally said 15 year old arriving home with a homemade lemon meringue pie from DT Food, it was lovely and he did amazingly well bearing in mind this had had to be transported home in his bag!

The rest of the week is the normal 'work' blur and said 15 year old isn't 100% at the moment but I'm convincing him to head to school as he's got exams coming up and revision a plenty, this morning I've volunteered not only to drop him off, but also pick him up!  He just needs to do the 6.5 hours in the middle.  Fingers and toes crossed he manages it!

I hope you've had a good week and manage to extract some positive silver linings out of your week, the process of reflecting is a good one and a habit that truly allows you to focus on the good in the world, if you fancy joining in pop a post together, pop back and link up and we shall come and visit.  Don't stress if you don't make it every week, dip in and out as you please, if you just clock the positives mentally I'm sure your life will be more positive and richer for it.

Happy Friday people

THURSDAY - FUN, EXPLORING AND LIFE

Good morning all, well this morning's three layouts (two using yesterday's colour scheme), this first one based on squares lots and lots of squares.  Photo taken on said niece's 16th birthday where we had a fun family day trip to Mablethorpe and yes they did swap seats midway round!

Next up exploring the tree house at Alnwick Gardens, it is such an amazing building but totally random, particularly when you end up walking through someone's office to get to the top section!

And finally an evening walk on the sea front at Seahouses, made us stop and absorb the view!

Have a great Thursday people!

Wednesday - My Men, Audrey and Holy Island Print

Morning all, well I had great fun with these layouts, I popped a kit together using a colour inspiration challenge, but didn't include lots of the other things so it ended up just a colour kit as it were.  I really enjoyed the pop of black as it isn't something I would have done with this scheme myself but feel it really works!

This photo was taken at Brodsworth Hall earlier in the year, I use a couple of phone apps to create the white border before I sent it off for printing, I'm loving the square photos at the moment.  Obviously a photo of hubby and said 15 year old!

Next up you can see the simple addition of glossy accents to the black cardstock makes all the difference sometimes.  The photo is of my Mum winding up my niece when she found 'the' book in the famous Barter Book Store, much to my nieces dismay!  The two of them were in wind up mode and we ended up in fits of laughter!

And finally a piece of art work we found in the church next to the priory on Holy Island. Done in a Project Life style using up lots of elements of the kit I'd put together

Hope you are having a grand day!

TUESDAY - CAN SOMEONE TURN THE LIGHTS ON

Good morning, well the title will let you know that I really really don't like these darker days, I am not someone who enjoys the lack of daylight and I find it a battle in winter, given half a chance I'd hibernate in winter!
Anyway I'm sharing some more recent layouts that I've done at my craft table.

First up said 15 year old and his art textile project of growth and decay, when we visited Brodsworth Hall, here he is documenting growth!  I can't believe how old he looks on photos these days!

The next layout is quite funny in some respects, the hanging 'petals' made for a fun photo of my niece, this is when we got to sit at the main dining table at Chatsworth as part of their 'take a seat' exhibition.  The particular seat my niece chose was the one that Queen Victoria - who at the time was still at Princess, sat at, hence the title!

And finally one of my more 'arty' instragram photos from the Chatsworth Country Fayre that I had printed.  The Fayre always signals the end of Summer and the beginning of Autumn for us.

I hope Tuesday treats you well.

MONDAY ARRIVES

Good morning, well it's been a strange weekend overall, the sad news that we've all had to deal with, the massive outpourings of emotions on social media, it really is a very difficult time.

Thankfully my scrapbooking allowed me some time to reflect and take stock a little bit, so thought I'd share a few more layouts.  Thankfully the scrapbooking is becoming prolific again!  I blame finding some decent colour challenges recently to get me off the starting blocks!

first up a double page spread that I did as part of the Alice trail around Llandudno (I can't believe how many layouts that one day has created!).

These photos were taken in the park

Next up a rather cold day up at Nostell Priory, our first every visit, we had a great day out and can highly recommend!

I hope your Monday greets you kindly!

SUNDAY POST

Trying to brighten a dark Sunday afternoon, I thought I'd share a few positive photos from earlier in the year.

First up blossoms at Harewood in the Spring.

Then a layout using a beautiful sky photo from a trip to Chatsworth, there is a point on the journey where you feel on top of the world and it's one of my most favourite places.

And finally said 15 year old returning home from school when they finally closed it earlier in the year, with them pulling the buses off it simply took him hours to get home and he was absolutely drenched when he arrived, not to mention the state of his new shoes, but I was mighty glad to get him home safe and sound.
