Good Morning, good evening good afternoon, hope this Friday is treating you well and you are looking forward to a weekend full of fun family and festiveness.

But this post is about reflecting, reflecting on the last 7 days and noting those positives, so without further ado let's see what's in the Rocking bag this week.

Mmm let's see well first up has to be the local Christmas Tree Festival, held at the Church, it has become something of a Christmas tradition to walk around enjoying the crisp evening air and have a look at all the gorgeous trees.  They are decorated by local groups and sponsored by local business and it's always a blessing to see.

This year the theme was Christmas carols and there were some gorgeous trees

This one was fab but the hand painted angels reminded me of the angels on Dr Who - never a good thing!

 This one was a favourite
 As was this one

There is something quite beautiful about a Church at night

Outside the large nativity that they display, my sister was slightly bewildered by the age of Joseph though
We also went to the Fayre being held next door to the church and sampled hot mulled wine and real ale, heard carol singers, bought some beautiful jams, chutneys and pickles (including a no-cook pickle called Pan Yan Pickle which was gorgeous).  My Mum even managed to wine a bottle on the bottle stall.

Hubby making peppermint creams at the weekend, and this is said 13 year old 'sampling' the chocolate that wasn't used in the dipping of the mints process!
Then we had the treat of seeing the coca-cola truck at the local shopping centre, we didn't queue for the 'official' photo (far too long a queue), but I did enjoy seeing it as I haven't seen it before other than on the adverts, so a big thank you to Lesley for letting me know it was touring the country, thus creating a new Christmas memory and a new photo to scrap for this festive season!

We loved the 'fake snow' blowing about the front of it (don't want any of the real stuff thank you very much).
 Loving the number plate too
Inside the shopping centre, hubby got some amazing shots of the hanging decorations, I love how pretty they are.
 and they change colour
Back outside we got to see Santa's Grotto, it seems to have become a lot more elaborate than when said 13 year old was tiny!
And me and said 13 year old stood outside it, however Santa as apparently not home!
So the week has been lots of festive elements, trees, trucks and decorations, spending time with family enjoying the festive season!

I hope your week has been blessed and that you can find plenty to reflect on in the week, if you fancy joining in pop a post together and pop back here and link we so we can come and visit.  We are a tiny crew of people but anyone whose done Rocking posts in the past agree, that they give a whole different dimension on the world!

A layout before I go from the visit to Chatsworth last year, a large gingerbread house (it wasn't real LOL but I still liked it).

  1. Wow, what a colourful week - I love those Christmas trees - and that is the second festival I've heard about recently in church - seems it's a well known thing (shows my ignorance of all things happening in church, lol!) Have a great week ahead, too.

  2. So glad you got to see the Coca-Cola Truck - it is quite magical :)

  3. Fantastic photos to go with your fab week of gratefuls, Virginia!

  4. I love all those trees in the church. What a lovely idea. And the lights and decorations are all beautiful. My son took his boys to see the truck. They really enjoyed it too. Have another great week of family festivities. Kate x

  5. Lovely LO Virginia - such a cute gingerbread house.

My niece saw the Coca-Cola trucks when they visited the army bases in Germany (her hubby is in the army) - you have some fab photos to scrap.

    Loved the trees.

    Have a super week.
    Toni xx
